"Now, I'm trying to have courage."
Hanni stood before the world with a more resilient appearance. She candidly shared her emotions, which were more careful and sensitive than anyone else's, and confessed the transformative time that allowed her to tell her current self that 'it's okay.'
On the 14th, the episode of MBN's 'Oh Eun-young Stay' revealed Hanni's deep inner story under the keyword 'social awareness.' She confessed, 'I tend to take on responsibilities for things that are not my fault,' noting how it made her difficult.
Hanni revealed that she has been sensitive to others' emotions since childhood. 'When I was young, I was aware of my mother's expectations. She opposed my dream of becoming a singer, asking, 'Why do you want to walk a thorny path?' Because it is a visible profession, I felt I had to meet people's expectations. The pressure of not wanting to disappoint them led me to become even more attuned to my surroundings,' she recalled.
In particular, Hanni said, 'I now want to stop being so aware of my surroundings,' adding, 'I discovered that I unconsciously check my surroundings as a habit. I realized that life doesn't always go my way.'
He stopped his activities after the patient death incident at a hospital run by his ex-boyfriend Yang Jae-woong in May last year. Despite not being directly involved in the incident, criticism was directed at him, and Hanni left the programs she was scheduled to appear on, choosing silence for a while.
He said, 'Even when riding the subway, I thought, 'What if everyone thinks I've failed?' I avoided people's eyes. I tried to act nonchalant but it was hard,' revealing his deep wounds. Afterwards, Hanni began temple stays to find herself and set out with a backpack to Dharamshala, India. 'A monk told me, 'Don't try to do what you want,' and I cried a lot at those words, reflecting that it was a journey to discover myself.'
This appearance on 'Oh Eun-young Stay' was also an extension of that change. Hanni stated, 'This appearance is a declaration. I’m trying to have the courage to be disliked,' she said bravely. 'I still care, but now I will have courage. I believe that the moment I share my worries is the beginning of change.' While eating ramen, she suddenly sang 'I Will Be a Firefly,' saying, 'This song resonated with me during tough times. Does it have to be anything great? Everyone is basically the same, aren't we?' and smiled brightly.
Quietly but firmly. Hanni began to live her life in her own way. 'Who would dare throw stones at Hanni?' comes to mind.
