Kang Ho-dong, Kim Dong-hyun, and Yoo Byung-jae expressed their thoughts on their comeback with 'The Great Escape: The Story.'

The TVING original 'The Great Escape: The Story' returns as a suspense adventure with a different scale, a detailed worldview, and added storytelling, alongside new escape artists.

With its premiere set for July 23 (Wednesday), Kang Ho-dong, Kim Dong-hyun, and Yoo Byung-jae, who had previously showcased their talents in the past series of 'The Great Escape,' are heightening expectations by sharing the changes and feelings they experienced during the filming of 'The Great Escape: The Story.'

After knocking on the door of 'The Great Escape' again after more than four years, the three expressed their joy and excitement in unison, showing their affection for the show. Kang Ho-dong said, "I always had thoughts about 'The Great Escape' in my heart," expressing his joy about the new season. Kim Dong-hyun added, "I was very grateful because this program gave me nicknames like 'Kim Ho-dul' and 'Bu-ryeok Gangja.' So, I waited even longer for this season," while Yoo Byung-jae reminisced about the filming, saying, "I approached each moment with the heart of going on a picnic."

Above all, it raises curiosity about what the original members felt as a differentiating point in 'The Great Escape: The Story,' which returned as a 'suspense adventure.' The three highlighted different elements, hinting at the program's changes.

First, Kang Ho-dong, who pointed out the combination with new members, replied, "Since new members have joined, it seems we can show a different feel to the team play than before," while Kim Dong-hyun stated, "This season is especially large in scale and had many truly difficult situations. There were moments when I thought, 'Are they really not going to let us go home?'" indicating an upgraded level of escape difficulty.

Yoo Byung-jae added, "Unlike before, where individual episodes occasionally overlapped in theme, it seems the difference lies in having a single overarching storyline from the beginning. From a player's perspective, it created a greater sense of immersion, which was great," signaling that this season is a feast of escape stories.

In addition, all three expressed confidence in the team dynamics and chemistry among the six escape artists in 'The Great Escape: The Story,' calling it a 'perfect match.' Kang Ho-dong stated, "It was a combination that had not existed before, but strangely, it felt very comfortable. As filming continued, the strong teamwork became very visible," and he confidently added, "The chemistry explodes at every moment to the point where I can't dare to score it."

Moreover, Kim Dong-hyun and Yoo Byung-jae responded by quoting Kang Ho-dong's famous sayings, further showcasing their unique teamwork. Kim Dong-hyun recalled, "I thought of Hyung's saying, 'We survive when we gather together, and we die when we scatter,' and we all put our strength together," while Yoo Byung-jae added, "There were quite a few moments where we created wonderful teamwork under Hyung's lead, 'A drop gathers to become the sea,'" expressing heartfelt gratitude for Kang Ho-dong's leadership.

Meanwhile, TVING is preparing to set the atmosphere for 'The Great Escape: The Story,' which is set to premiere on the 23rd (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. To help viewers revisit the 'The Great Escape' worldview, all episodes from seasons 1 to 4 will be offered for free until midnight on the 22nd (Tuesday).
