Singer Bumpkey and actress Lim Hye-jin, among others in the mentoring group, visited the next generation of youths to provide comfort and encouragement.
The '2025 Visiting Mentoring Program _ Uijeongbu edition' took place on the 13th (Sunday) at Hanulsaem Church in Yonghyeon-dong, Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province. Bumpkey and Lim Hye-jin, who are active in the music and performing arts industries, candidly shared how they achieved their dreams and overcame moments of despair, garnering much sympathy.
Bumpkey not only spoke but also sang songs such as 'You Understand' and 'Here, There, and Everywhere.' He gifted an exciting performance to youths weighed down by studies and the heat. Bumpkey expressed, while touring Hanulsaem Church, which has created a PC room for wandering youths to come in, "It's really nice that there is a space suitable for their level where children can come and go comfortably."
Lim Hye-jin said, "There were times of despair and frustration in my life, but God's dream became my vision, and Jesus' character became my personality. The power of the Holy Spirit allowed me to dream. This was possible because of those who prayed for me and supported me. I hope to convey the love I received to the youths who are searching for their dreams. I support that today's meeting becomes the strength to dream of tomorrow."
Attorney Kang Cheon-kyu of Seongji Partners Law Firm disclosed how to wisely study while maintaining faith during school years. As an expert, he also provided advice on how to cope if one becomes a victim of school violence. He noted, "I was surprised that kids are more interested in the profession of a lawyer than I expected. I hope they don't get absorbed in studying but can dream within faith and walk that path while seeking God's help."
Kim Eun-jung, the head of Queen House, imparted beauty tips to children who are very interested in appearance. However, she emphasized that inner beauty is also vital. She expressed, "I was happy to share stories about dreams within faith with the children and it was even more valuable as I could hear the precious life stories of other mentors."
Pastor Jeon Ung-je of Hanulsaem Church said, "This year, the youths deeply empathized with the genuine stories of the mentoring group and received challenges and comfort." He added, "A student who couldn't often attend church due to academy commitments said he would work harder on his faith after hearing Attorney Kang's story, and a female student who always covered her face with a hat because she was self-conscious about her appearance smiled brightly after receiving encouragement and comfort from Director Kim. A youth shed tears, saying the stories of Lim Hye-jin and Bumpkey overcoming slumps through faith felt like hearing his own story." He emphasized, "In the future, I will passionately work to save the next generation in cooperation with Christian mentors. I also thank Uijeongbu Mayor Kim Dong-geun for his surprise visit."
The 'Visiting Mentoring Program' was organized by the non-profit organization 'The News Reporters Saving People' to provide vision to youths deeply contemplating their careers amidst the challenging reality and uncertain future. Various organizations including Human and Human International Corporation, So Coffee, That is Hany Studio, The New, Raemian Bakery, Anyang Spring Light Hospital, OUID (OUND), Jade Lantern Studio, Protein Mill, and Hanul Light collaborated.
