Actor Kim Nam-gil of 'Trigger' revealed his habit of being informal with seniors in the entertainment industry on 'Salon Drip 2.'
On the evening of the 15th, the 99th episode of the web entertainment show 'Salon Drip 2,' released on the YouTube channel 'Teo (TEO),' featured Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang as guests. They discussed their recent activities, including the new drama 'Trigger,' with the show's MC Jang Doyoun.
Kim Nam-gil playfully took control of 'Salon Drip 2' with his unique charm and chatter. Known for informally calling seniors in the entertainment industry 'hyung' and 'noona,' Kim Nam-gil laughed, saying, "Jae-seok hyung did the same. From the very beginning, I said 'Hello, hyung.' When I first met him, I said, 'Hello, Doyoun,' and everyone warmly greeted me, but when I passed by, they seemed to look back and think, 'Where have we seen him before?'"
He confessed, "Sometimes I get scolded. Senior Joo Jin-mo appeared as a father in 'Goodbye Solo' a long time ago. Since I was younger, I tried to be friendly and called him 'hyung,' but later when I met him in another project, I said, 'Oh, Jin-mo hyung.' However, someone else called out, 'Do you know what year he was born?' and scolded me. Honestly, I didn't know his age." He was surprised to learn that senior actor Joo Jin-mo was born in 1958, making him 22 years older.
Kim Nam-gil continued, "The downside is that when I call someone ‘hyung’ or ‘noona’ outside, I end up calling them ‘noona’ when my aunts come over at home. It becomes a habit. I hypnotize myself by saying that this is our family. Sometimes, I accidentally make mistakes even when I get home." This revelation drew laughter from those around him.
Meanwhile, 'Trigger,' starring Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang, is a disaster action thriller drama that depicts the story of two men who, for various reasons, take up arms amid ongoing incidents involving illegal firearms of unknown origin in the firearm-free country of South Korea. It is set to be released on Netflix on the 25th.
