The last date of the 2nd season members of "Pursuing Old Encounters" has begun.
On the broadcast of KBS Joy·KBS2·GTV 'Pursuing Old Encounters' Season 2 (hereinafter 'POE') on the 14th, Lee Hyung-cheol, Lee Gi-chan, Park Kwang-jae, Lee Sang-jun, Wax, Park Eun-hye, Shin Bong-sun, and Kang Se-jeong displayed signs of tension and excitement ahead of their final date.
Among the male participants awaiting their final date, Park Kwang-jae showed the strongest determination. He said, "If the other person does not choose me, I will give up my choice," adding, "If I do choose, it will only be that person," revealing his unwavering feelings toward Kang Se-jeong. Although the date would be randomly determined, Park Kwang-jae hoped for a third consecutive date with Kang Se-jeong.
However, Lee Gi-chan emerged as a variable. During the first preference vote, Lee Gi-chan had cast his vote for Kang Se-jeong but bluntly stated, "Honestly, I want to go on a date once," which made Park Kwang-jae nervous. The final date was a one-on-one meal date where participants would choose the same menu from options like grilled chicken, boiled duck, pizza, and pasta. Anticipating the menu that Kang Se-jeong would likely choose, Lee Gi-chan and Park Kwang-jae engaged in a fierce guessing game that captivated viewers.
A competitive dynamic also formed among the female participants. Park Eun-hye said, "I think I’m okay with something familiar," indicating her desire to date Lee Gi-chan once again. However, Kang Se-jeong, who seemed to be forming a definitive love line with Park Kwang-jae, confessed that after listening to Lee Gi-chan's song the day before, she had developed feelings and wanted to meet someone else to confirm her emotions, heightening the tension.
The choices of male and female participants proceeded, and first, Lee Hyung-cheol and Shin Bong-sun went on a date. He expressed his liking for Shin Bong-sun by saying, "I wanted to meet once. She was much more attractive than I saw on screen." The two talked continuously from the moment they got in the car until they finished eating. In particular, they built a deep connection by discussing reasons for giving up on romance and the loneliness that suddenly strikes.
Lee Hyung-cheol expressed satisfaction over the continuous conversation with Shin Bong-sun, asking, "Is this really how it works?" Shin Bong-sun also noted that she found Lee Hyung-cheol's free-spiritedness appealing and appreciated how he openly expressed himself.
Next, Lee Sang-jun and Wax enjoyed a boiled duck date. Wax revealed her feelings for Lee Sang-jun, stating, "I'm vulnerable to sincerity. He’s playful, but I saw seriousness in him," adding, "I think he would take good care of his person and didn’t seem superficial."
Lee Sang-jun also mentioned, "Through 'POE', I came to know my type. I realized what kind of woman I should meet," naming Wax as his ideal type and saying, "From my perspective, there are no flaws."
The two also had an honest conversation about the realistic barrier of their age difference. Their sincere dialogue, faithful to their feelings, resonated with viewers.
The final date of Lee Gi-chan, Park Kwang-jae, Park Eun-hye, and Kang Se-jeong is set to be revealed next week. Following their date, the final choices of 'POE' Season 2 will also be disclosed. In a preview released at the end of the broadcast, male participants were captured with teary eyes, drawing the viewers' attention.
