"Running Man" Super Junior, hidden real conflict behind 20 years of friendship? Leeteuk and Heechul even fought in the 'Battle of Incheon University'
In "Running Man," Leeteuk and Heechul mention the legendary 'Battle of Incheon University,' where they actually fought, sharing various episodes from the past two decades.
In the Dec. 13 episode of SBS's entertainment program "Running Man," Super Junior members Eunhyuk, Kyuhun, and Leeteuk, celebrating their 20th debut anniversary, shared heartfelt stories from the past.
The three recreated the skinny fashion that was popular in 2005, celebrating their strong friendship over the past 20 years by saying, "We survived." They joyfully proclaimed, "We are still 'alive,'" while announcing their 20th anniversary regular 12th album.
They continued with a mission, where during a spicy food challenge, Leeteuk pretended to be tough by saying, "It's not spicy, it's really delicious," but soon turned red, drawing laughter. Eventually, he brought out milk, prompting the other members to jeer, and he joked, "I brought milk just in case I needed it."
They moved to another location. When Super Junior commented that there had been no changes in the members, they admitted, "There were changes, but there were so many that it didn't show," referring to their current nine-member system. They openly shared, "We still fight," but added, "We don’t fight as fiercely as before; we tussle a bit and then quickly get tired," eliciting laughter.
In particular, Eunhyuk clarified past rumors about 'bullying,' and the members revealed the story of the 'grand Battle of Incheon University.' Kyuhun explained, "Leeteuk and Heechul are the same age friends but opposites, so there was a lot of built-up tension between them." Eunhyuk recounted, "Leeteuk pushed Heechul from behind and shouted, 'I've endured for 10 years,'" noting that it felt like a line from a serious coming-of-age teen movie. Leeteuk also acknowledged, "I felt it was time to let go."
The two fought their way to the stage, with Eunhyuk mentioning, "In the performance of 'Sorry,' we were supposed to face each other but stood two steps apart on stage," referencing their unresolved conflict at the time, and the actual footage was revealed. Even a captured angry expression drew laughter from everyone. The members joked, "We all knew they fought again," but Leeteuk responded, "Now, my relationship with Heechul is very good," bringing smiles. The members concluded warmly by saying, "Fighting helps us last longer."
