Today (14th) at 8:30 p.m., the KBS Joy show 'Ask Anything' episode 324 will feature a story of someone who is receiving dialysis.
The individual, who has been undergoing dialysis three times a week for about five months due to chronic kidney failure, has come to seek advice on how to be helpful to their family, appearing alongside their daughter.
The person, who has four children, explains that their health condition worsened after the second pregnancy due to a decline in kidney function following the birth of their first child.
Lee Sugeun shows great empathy towards the story, saying, 'We also had to go to a big hospital suddenly when we were having our second child,' and 'I know very well.'
The person reveals that since starting dialysis, their husband has been working alone to support the family, expressing their desire to be helpful but feeling unsure of how.
However, it is difficult to find work due to needing dialysis three times a week, and managing four children alone is also challenging, so currently, their mother-in-law is staying at home to help with child-rearing.
Lee Sugeun's wife, influencer Park Ji-yeon, received her first kidney transplant from her father in 2011 due to complications from pregnancy-induced hypertension. She has continued to manage her health consistently, but recently has been advised to prepare for a second transplant due to declining kidney function and is currently coordinating her surgery schedule after completing the final tests for the re-transplant. The donor is Park Ji-yeon's biological brother, and medical explanations suggest that transplants among family members have a higher success rate due to lower immune rejection.
Meanwhile, the elementary school daughter, who appeared alongside her, emotionally shares that she has given up on her dreams due to the family's difficult situation.
Seo Jang-hoon gives practical advice to the individual, saying, 'The more you go through such times, the more important it is to take care of your own body and not overexert yourself, as it helps your family in the long run.' He then appears to choke up while speaking to the daughter, saying, 'Whenever I talk about mom...' and tears up.
Lee Sugeun also advises, 'Before going for dialysis, it's good to place a warm thermos on your arm for blood circulation and vascular health,' and emphasizes, 'Always keep warm,' and 'Mental health is important too.'
Meanwhile, the individual's story of having all conversations with AI and the dilemma over whether to accept the results of their divorce lawsuit with their husband can also be confirmed in today's broadcast.
