Voice actor and broadcaster Seo Yu-ri (40) clarified her debt and the controversy over her appearances on grants.
On the 13th, Seo Yu-ri wrote on her social media service (SNS), “Huh. It seems strange stories are spreading again. Stop the questions.”
She continued, “I sold assets, including my house, and repaid about 1.1 billion won, and I paid off the remaining 200 million won by working hard in advertising and other broadcasts. I only appeared in the grant broadcasts four times,” she revealed.
Grant broadcasts refer to content where participants perform suggestive dances or poses based on viewer sponsorship amounts in internet broadcasting. The host organizes the sponsorship rankings in an Excel document and reveals the rankings. It has been criticized as a “cyber room salon.”
Seo Yu-ri emphasized, “I earned just 5 million won for four appearances on grants. That’s not a lot of money. So don’t spread false rumors.”
Recently, Seo Yu-ri confessed to about 2 billion won in debt incurred after her divorce during the entertainment program “Sisters’ Party” on the YouTube channel “This is the real final.” She stated, “I have repaid about 1.3 billion won so far. I will be responsible and pay it all off.”
Seo Yu-ri married director Choi Byung-gil (48) in 2019, but the couple faced a separation. In March last year, the two stated they were in divorce mediation. They completed the divorce mediation process in early June of the same year and have no children.
Seo Yu-ri debuted as a voice actor in 2008 with Daewon Media. She voiced characters in animations such as “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Doraemon,” and “Dragon Ball,” as well as in games like “Dungeon & Fighter” and “Sudden Attack.” She also appeared in MBC TV’s entertainment program “My Little Television.”
Director Choi produced dramas during his time at MBC, including “Hotel King” (2014), “Angry Mom” (2015), and “Missing Nine” (2017). He left MBC in 2019 and directed the LG Uplus STUDIO X+U movie “Tarot,” which was released in June last year.
