Actress Um Ji-won once again moved the hearts of viewers as 'Kwang-suk.'
In the 48th episode of the tvN weekend drama 'For Eagle Brothers' broadcast on the 11th (written by Kwon Hoon-sook, directed by Choi Sang-yeol and Lee Jin-ah), the human sincerity of Ma Kwang-suk (Um Ji-won), her deep insights about love, and her strong resolve to face the responsibilities of life were depicted, leaving expectations for the latter part of the drama.
In the last episode, Kwang-suk faced a crucial turning point when Dong-seok (Ahn Jae-wook) proposed. However, her response was unexpected. "If we get married... we will live with my mother-in-law," she said, demonstrating her growth into a true adult by taking responsibility for her family while helping Ahn Jae-wook's ex-mother-in-law who has Alzheimer's.
Throughout this process, conflicts, misunderstandings, and reconciliations were portrayed, and particularly, the scene where she learned of Park Jung-soo's past lover Park Jong-woo's obituary and attended the funeral together conveyed a deep resonance through Um Ji-won's unique delicate and profound emotional expression.
Moreover, Kwang-suk proved with a resolute attitude that love is not just excitement but an accumulation of understanding and respect in her relationship with Dong-seok. After asserting, "I am really angry about what you said that disrespects me," she reconciled and remarked, "The person who contacted first is not the loser, but the one who recognized the situation," resonating with viewers through dialogue characteristic of Ma Kwang-suk.
Additionally, Um Ji-won displayed her leadership in 'For Eagle Brothers,' leading its success both domestically and internationally, despite interference from Dokgo-tak (Choi Byeong-mo), while supporting and uniting the romantic relationships and families of the other brothers, thus taking responsibility for the latter half of the drama.
'For Eagle Brothers' delicately and joyfully unfolds the profound messages of family, love, forgiveness, and responsibility as it progresses into the latter half. At the center of it all is actress Um Ji-won, who portrays Kwang-suk. Her performance, which compellingly captures various aspects of life, can be referred to as 'the peak of Um Ji-won's rewriting career.'
Meanwhile, the KBS2 weekend drama 'For Eagle Brothers,' starring Um Ji-won, airs every Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m.
