Kang Ha-neul shared behind-the-scenes details of 'Wall To Wall'.
On the 14th, a production briefing for the Netflix movie 'Wall To Wall' was held at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel. The event was attended by actors Kang Ha-neul, Yeom Hye-ran, Seo Hyun-woo, and director Kim Tae-joon.
The film is an unpredictable thriller about Woosung (Kang Ha-neul), a member of the home-buying crowd who succeeded in obtaining a home with a 'Wall To Wall' apartment, suffering from unidentified floor noise.
Director Kim Tae-joon, who received praise for capturing realistic horror and suspense associated with 'smartphone hacking' in the Netflix movie 'I Only Dropped My Smartphone', will present another thriller by portraying the intense conflicts between neighbors caused by floor noise in an apartment that many can relate to.
Kang Ha-neul plays Woosung, a typical office worker who has succeeded in buying a home. He recalled about his participation in the project, saying, “It was fun, and the unique point was that many scripts have a lot of text written to help readers understand. But when I saw the director’s script, I felt like it looked like a storyboard for direction. Therefore, I could envision the director's style. Consequently, I ended up reading the entire script in one sitting.”
Regarding his character, he said, “He is a young man who evokes a sense of sympathy, striving hard to live. He is a character who bought an APT. by exhausting his soul, pulling together savings from housing collateral, retirement funds, deposits, and his mother's land. However, he gradually grows weak due to stress caused by the inexplicable floor noise.” He joked, “While filming, I felt like I was becoming weak.”
Kang Ha-neul said that he had a lot of scenes, enough to attend the shooting of each episode, and added with a laugh, “I focused on how to wrap things up today a bit quicker.” He continued, “When I first read the script, there were clearly other characters besides me. But while filming, I jokingly asked the director, 'Why is it just me in every shoot?'”
