Park Seo-jin recalled memories from her days of obscurity.
On the 12th, during the broadcast of KBS2TV 'The Men Who Housekeep Season 2,' singer Park Seo-jin shared painful memories from her challenging times in obscurity.
Park Seo-jin spoke about the difficulties she faced during her days of anonymity. She had to travel by bus because she did not own a car and recalled waiting in the bathroom during early winter because there was no waiting room. Park Seo-jin said, "I had no money, so I bought a cheap jacket at the market and added all the decorations to create stage costumes."
Park Seo-jin said, "When I had a car, the security guards would check, but since I walked, they didn’t check me. I was really envious of that." Park Seo-jin remarked, "Once I became famous and got a car, it was amazing that the security guards would check me."
Park Seo-jin expressed, "There was no way for me to get noticed, so whenever I saw banners or festivals, I would call to say I was a new singer and pleaded to at least set up a stage for me. I asked them to let me perform even if there wasn't work available." She mentioned, "I have a fear of phone calls. I would tell myself not to call, yet I still called. I was afraid of being rejected, so I thought it would be better if they didn’t answer the phone at all."
Park Seo-jin attracted attention by saying, "I couldn’t make eye contact or talk, so I was often misunderstood by my seniors." Baek Hyo-jung asked, "A person who was that introverted still made phone calls and put in such a strenuous effort. What was the reason you wanted to become a singer so badly?"
In response, Park Seo-jin said, "I just wanted to sing so much," capturing attention. Baek Ji-young remarked, "Seo-jin looks really happy when she sings." Eun Ji-won advised, "Having gone through such a process, every stage is precious and unforgettable."
Baek Hyo-jung remarked, "I thought, 'You must have had a hard time, and you went through a lot.' Now that you’ve endured so much, isn’t this position a result of that effort?"
Park Seo-jin said, "Even now, there are so many singers who want to get on stage, and they need to work hard on everything and value each moment." [Photo: KBS2TV 'The Men Who Housekeep Season 2' broadcast capture]
