On this day, Baek Ji-young departed for a volunteer activity in Cameroon, Africa with her junior singer Song Yu-bin. After a long flight, Baek Ji-young said, "This is my first time in Africa. The time in Korea is now 11:41 a.m. Since I left home at 9:30 a.m., it took 26 hours to get here."
After arriving at a Korean restaurant, Baek Ji-young asked, "How do you select the children for the (sponsored advertisement) filming?" A volunteer member explained, "We look at those who may need a little more help. It’s very important to consider whether the guardians have the will to care for children at home. We conduct interviews and check to make selections accordingly."
On the morning of the first day of volunteer work, Baek Ji-young and Song Yu-bin visited a rural village in Cameroon. There, Baek Ji-young met seven-year-old Romarik, who had leg pain. After briefly playing together, she took Romarik, who had difficulty moving without a stick, to the hospital. She said, "I thought I shouldn’t delay. But I'm really worried because the condition of his leg is very, very bad."
Ultimately, Baek Ji-young cried, saying, "This is really too cruel." Fortunately, she smiled at the news that Romarik would recover in two months after rehabilitation following surgery. She then expressed pride, saying, "He didn’t shed a single tear. He didn’t make a sound at all."
