In 'Jun Hyun-moo Plan 2', Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube explored hidden local restaurants in 'the city of gourmet food', Hong Kong, alongside 'food friend' Jeong Eun-ji and 'Chinese food goddess' Chef Park Eun-young, stimulating the viewers' five senses.
In the 37th episode of the real street food documentary 'Jun Hyun-moo Plan 2' broadcasted on the 11th, Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) enjoyed a food trip with 'food friend' Jeong Eun-ji and Chef Park Eun-young at local restaurants in Hong Kong. They experienced a dim sum restaurant highly recommended by local residents, as well as the shockingly unique street snack 'turtle shell jelly'. They also savored the 'real' pizza that has been recognized as 'the Michelin of pizzas' for four consecutive years and visited Chef Park Eun-young's 'favorite' Chinese restaurant, bringing local 'real' restaurant information and healing travel experiences to the viewers at home.
That early morning, Jun Hyun-moo, Kwak Tube, and Jeong Eun-ji took a stroll in Kennedy Town, Hong Kong, enjoying the scenery. Jun Hyun-moo was proud to be recognized by a local resident while also verifying the dim sum restaurant they were looking for, showing dedication to his 'main job'. Shortly after arriving at the dim sum place, the three found themselves sharing a table due to a high number of customers, and they experienced unique fun while choosing dim sum from the cart passing between the customers. After a delightful 'eating potential' burst at the dim sum restaurant, the three headed next to try the street snack 'turtle shell jelly', which can only be tasted in Hong Kong. Once Jeong Eun-ji saw the actual turtle shell, she remarked, 'It's a bit scary. But it must be sold because people would eat it,' expressing her concern. Meanwhile, Jun Hyun-moo unexpectedly showed his 'dad joke' side by voraciously consuming the jelly, eliciting laughter.
After quenching their thirst with 'turtle shell jelly', Jun Hyun-moo said, 'There is a restaurant on the '50 TOP pizza' list, which has been ranked for four consecutive years,' as he led the two to a pizza place. Moments later, when a well-baked wood-fired pizza was placed on the table, Jeong Eun-ji suggested to Jun Hyun-moo, 'Age before beauty,' but Jun Hyun-moo rejected the 'age courtesy' remark by responding, 'That age courtesy!' creating a funny tension. While they were enjoying their meal, when dessert tiramisu was served, Jun Hyun-moo explained, 'Tiramisu originally has a sexy name. It means 'lift me up',' to which Kwak Tube inquired, 'Do you want me to lift your spirits?' Jun Hyun-moo replied, 'I'll leave it to your imagination,' and the three unexpectedly sang 'You raise me up,' having a 'holy' time.
After finishing the pizza food trip, Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube bid farewell to Jeong Eun-ji and moved to another location invited by Chef Park Eun-young, who works at a Chinese restaurant. Chef Park Eun-young took them to her 'favorite' restaurant, not the one where she works. Notably, once Jun Hyun-moo recognized the place, he exclaimed, 'I used to eat like crazy here. It's so delicious. It shouldn’t be known... I hope it doesn't go on air,' showing his excitement. Chef Park Eun-young added, 'This is also a place liked by Kang Soo-jung and Chef Anh Sung-jae.' Upon entering her 'favorite' Chinese restaurant, Chef Park Eun-young ordered a whopping eight dishes, and shortly after, cold noodles, mapo tofu, san chai yu, and rock shrimp appeared, heralding the start of an unlimited eating broadcast.
During the eating broadcast, Jun Hyun-moo asked, 'Did you ever have any complaints when working with your mentor, Chef Lu Ching Lai?' Chef Park Eun-young recounted, 'When I first became a chef and cooked, a VIP guest complained, saying, 'The chef has changed. It doesn't taste good.' At that moment, Chef Lu Ching Lai called me over and said, 'I like all your dishes,' which made me cry. He was the one who believed in me when I didn't even believe in myself.' This deeply moved Jun Hyun-moo, who commented, 'This is a touching tale demonstrating the greatness of (Lu Ching Lai's) character.' Additionally, Chef Park Eun-young shared, 'Actually, I moved the country to Hong Kong to gain independence from (Lu Ching Lai). He didn’t encourage me until the very end for fear that I would struggle,' evoking a poignant moment.
