Who is the ruthless queen bee of Daegu?
On Saturday, Dec. 12, at 11:10 p.m., SBS "I Want to Know That" will reveal the shocking identities of the perpetrators who imprisoned and coerced women in their 20s into prostitution in Daegu.
Since 2023, there have been witness accounts from residents reporting that men and women in their 20s with tattoos and using profanity have been congregating in a newly built apartment in Daegu. Three men and women, along with a young child, lived together in the same house, and neighbors suspected criminal connections due to their outings mostly occurring at night.
In May of last year, the case came to light when a missing person report was filed at a local police station in Daegu. A figure described as the husband of a woman who suddenly disappeared called 112 to report it. The woman, 28-year-old Kim Eun-ah (a pseudonym), who inexplicably got into a taxi late at night heading to her parents' house, left her parents in shock when she returned home and shared what had happened while living with a friend.
Eun-ah revealed that she had registered her marriage to a man in the group under the coercion of a woman named Tae, with whom she was living together. Her surprised parents hired a lawyer to prepare for an annulment. However, her shocking confession continued. Eun-ah was forced into prostitution more than 1,000 times over a year and a half until she escaped from the group.
The perpetrators included Tae, a woman in her 20s, and three other men in their 20s. They not only imprisoned and assaulted Eun-ah but also inflicted torture on another victim, a woman in her 20s named So-hee (a pseudonym), who was a mother, and coerced her into prostitution as well. The victims could only use cell phones registered in the men's names when going out for prostitution, and when they attempted to escape multiple times, the perpetrators tracked them down using a location tracking app.
Police officer Song Oh-kyung noted that he has never seen such a case in his 36 years of criminal investigation. Tae, who led the confinement, assault, and prostitution, was cohabiting with not only her lawful husband but also two men who were the legal husbands of the victims. Among them was Jo, the husband of victim So-hee and the father of their child. Why did he remain in the same house with Tae while ignoring his wife's suffering?
What kind of person is Tae, who led this bizarre cohabitation and horrific crimes? What secret activities transpired within the group where Tae reigned as the queen bee? On Saturday, Dec. 12, at 11:10 p.m., SBS "I Want to Know That" will expose Tae's lies and threats, in which she extorted hundreds of millions won not only from the victims' prostitution earnings but also from the victims' families.
