Actor Gong Yoo has been selected as an 'All-Time Legend Hot Guy' for 'Squid Game.'
On the 9th (local time), American magazine Harper's Bazaar published an article listing 'The 50 Hottest Men of All Time.' Gong Yoo is the only Korean actor to make the list.
The publication stated, 'Hollywood is overflowing with attractive men. From classic Hollywood icons to today's heartthrob stars, sexiness is a common trait among the most famous male stars who have lit up the screen.' It added, 'Surprisingly, sexiness is not greatly related to their chiseled jawlines or the curves of their muscular abs (although those factors do help). True sexiness lies in the way they present themselves (confidence, ability, and charisma).'
Additionally, Harper's Bazaar selected 50 individuals with enough star power to captivate the world, from James Dean to Michael B. Jordan, introducing 'the most beautiful and attractive men of the past 60 years.'
Gong Yoo gained recognition from global audiences through the Netflix series 'Squid Game,' earning a spot on the list.
The magazine included Gong Yoo in the rankings, writing, 'Everyone says they would never participate in 'Squid Game.' But that is because they have not yet experienced Gong Yoo's irresistible recruiting skills.' It also described his 'hot' point as 'slapping the cheek of someone across from him while playing Ddakji in a suit,' which caught attention.
Gong Yoo made a special appearance as the so-called 'Ddakji Man' who gathers game participants in 'Squid Game,' which was released in 2021 and gained global popularity. As the series became popular and a sequel was produced, he made a more prominent appearance in Season 2. In 'Squid Game Season 2,' which was released last year, Gong Yoo reappeared as the Ddakji Man, engaging in an acting showdown with Lee Jung-jae. Notably, despite his brief screen time, Gong Yoo's intense portrayal of a psychopath made a lasting impression on fans worldwide.
'The 50 Hottest Men of All Time' includes Gong Yoo along with legendary Hollywood actors James Dean, Marlon Brando, Harrison Ford, Elvis Presley, Keanu Reeves, Robert Redford, Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling, Pedro Pascal, Paul Mescal, and Robert Pattinson.
