Actress Lee Seol is gaining recognition for her diverse charm.
In the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Our Movie', Lee Seol plays the role of Chae Seo-young, an undisputed top star in the Korean film industry. She delicately portrays the fluctuating emotions between her past scandal partner Lee Je-ha (played by Nam Goong-min) and junior actress Lee Da-eum (played by Jeon Yeo-bin), stabilizing the narrative's center with a strong presence.
He realistically depicted the complex inner world tangled with Seo-young's pain and self-esteem, loneliness, and jealousy with a solid gaze and restrained expressions. In particular, through the scene of an unexpected kiss with Je-ha and while taking care of Da-eum yet hiding his true feelings, he intricately captured the nuances of delicate psychology, increasing the immersion of the drama.
Lee Seol's acting transformation continues on the theater stage. In the currently running play 'The Effect', she caught attention by embodying the character Tristan Pray in a gender-bending casting. Portraying a character participating in an antidepressant clinical trial, she closely follows the internal turmoil of emotions and identity fragmentation, delivering authentic performances.
In the film 'Invasion', which was released in March, she showed another side. Portraying Ha-young, who hides an anxious secret beneath a bright and friendly attitude, Lee Seol quietly infiltrates Min's (played by Kwon Yu-ri) daily life, creating tension, and leaves a strong impression by sharply capturing the character's inner self with delicate expressions and restrained portrayals.
By fully immersing herself in various characters in dramas, plays, and films, Lee Seol is expanding her own territory through transformations that transcend genre boundaries. Observing the character's inner world closely, she presents convincing performances in every work, and anticipation builds for her next steps.
Meanwhile, 'Our Movie', featuring Lee Seol, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. on SBS.
