Mom, I'm getting married now”... Yun Jung-soo, everyone cried during the last farewell to his mother.
Yun Jung-soo returned to the house where he lived with his mother in the past before getting married, creating a flood of tears while reminiscing about memories.
The MBC entertainment program 'Save Me! Homes', aired on the 10th, featured a special on Yun Jung-soo's 'settling the past'. On this day, he visited the Cheongdam-dong house he lost to auction over 10 years ago, evoking emotion as he recalled his last memories with his deceased mother.
Yun Jung-soo admitted, 'This house is where I lived for over 10 years. It was taken to auction due to a wrong guarantee on the debt, and I ended up going bankrupt.' He shared the desperate circumstances of that time, when the electricity and water were cut off, and the interest alone reached 9 million won a month. 'The grants were seized and I didn't even have money to leave at the laundromat, so I washed my clothes with drinking water,' he revealed, recounting the struggles for survival. In particular, he noted that he had no money at all when his house was auctioned off due to the wrong debt guarantee, leading him to file for bankruptcy. Fortunately, he said he had completed his bankruptcy now. Yun Jung-soo shared, 'Back then, I took my mom with me, which was the reason I endured because I had family to take care of.'
The broadcast also featured a past video taken with his mother 25 years ago. The tender moment of having conversations in sign language with his mother, who had hearing and speech disabilities, left a profound impression. Yun Jung-soo said, 'My mom is my driving force. I cherish my mom, she is truly funny and warm,' as he swallowed his tears. He also disclosed, 'My mother couldn't control her bowels or bladder due to dementia. I cared for her during the day with a caregiver and took care of her myself at night,' a story that made the panel members solemn. When everyone expressed amazement saying, 'That's impressive,' Yun Jung-soo replied, 'It's not impressive; it just seemed like that once it was over. If you live that way, it becomes routine.'
Now preparing for marriage, Yun Jung-soo signed, 'Mom, I’m getting married. Please forget everything and rest easy now,' a belated sign language farewell to his deceased mother. Seeing this, Jo Hye-ryun wiped her tears and encouraged him, saying, 'Do everything you want. Live as you wish even after getting married,' which deeply moved everyone. Yun Jung-soo remarked, 'I guess my mom has come to see me...' as his emotions surged, tugging at the heartstrings of onlookers.
Even after everyone had left, Yun Jung-soo lingered in the house where he lived with his mother. He quietly said, 'Mom, someone is living well here now,' as if saying his final farewell. Yun Jung-soo then expressed, 'I should have done better, I’m sorry. Thank you for everything, mother,' leaving him in tears. His heartfelt farewell moved even the filming crew to tears.
The cast and panel members watching the video expressed, 'It can’t get more sincere than this. I have a sense of respect for Yun Jung-soo,' and the scene turned into a literal sea of tears. Reflecting on the time spent with his mother as he prepared for marriage, Yun Jung-soo conveyed his sincere feelings. Every word and action of his touched many hearts.
