'Casino' is adding tension to the home theater.
The MBC special series 'Casino' airing on the 11th is preparing for a full-fledged confrontation between 'Cha Mu-sik' (played by Choi Min-sik), who has entered the Philippine casino, and 'Oh Seung-hoon' (Son Suk-ku), who is chasing him, predicting a heavy tension in the home theater.
In the preview video released ahead of the main broadcast, Cha Mu-sik entering the 'Bolton Casino,' known to be the largest in the Philippines, is depicted as he gains the trust of Chairman Min Seok-jun (played by Kim Hong-pa). As he builds relationships with local high-ranking politicians, Mu-sik's movement, gradually infiltrating the center of power, clearly heralds the return of the 'Casino King.'
However, a sinister shadow lurks behind the glamour. An unexplained murder case that occurred in a Philippine sugarcane field confronts Mu-sik directly, and he murmurs in a low voice to Yang Jeong-pal (played by Lee Dong-hwi), 'It's a murder case,' while keeping a watchful eye on the scene. Even the Philippine Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is involved, and Mu-sik confidently introduces himself in front of the investigators, asking, 'Do you know who I am?' This raises viewers' curiosity about how he will utilize or navigate this case.
The appearance of 'Korean Desk' Oh Seung-hoon, played by Son Suk-ku, foreshadows another axis of conflict. Sent to the Philippines to investigate a Korean death case, Seung-hoon receives a warning from local CIDG investigator Mark (played by Nico Antonio), saying, 'Mr. Cha, it seems like you know something. You really need to be careful.'
With this warning in mind, Seung-hoon's investigation becomes more relentless, and the pursuit of Cha Mu-sik begins to cause cracks within the casino. Mu-sik retorts, 'Do you think you can beat me in the Philippines? You can never win,' but the confrontation between these individuals, rocking like a gambling table, is expected to be anything but straightforward.
Towards the end of the preview video, a scene of Oh Seung-hoon screaming in front of a gun and Cha Mu-sik's narration, 'Now you understand? The reason why you can't beat me,' suggests unpredictable developments and maximizes viewers' tension.
The Disney+ original series 'Casino,' presented to the home theater by MBC as a special series, depicts the crime action story of the legendary 'Cha Mu-sik,' who dominated the Philippine casino scene, making his final gamble after his downfall, and the fierce psychological battle with the tenacious 'Oh Seung-hoon' (played by Son Suk-ku), a Korean desk detective pursuing him. As soon as it aired last week, it recorded the highest viewership in its time slot, garnering significant attention from viewers, stating 'Choi Min-sik has done it again.' It will be broadcast tonight at 10 p.m.
