Actor Song Kang-ho is leaving the drama 'Insiders.'
On the 11th, a representative from Song Kang-ho's side stated to OSEN, "Due to delays in the schedule of the drama 'Insiders,' he has inevitably had to leave."
'Insiders' is a drama based on the unfinished webtoon by writer Yoo Tae-ho. It has also been adapted into a movie, which received positive reviews, and preparations are underway for the drama production. Previously, Song Kang-ho had been slated to appear in the role of Lee Gang-hee, played by actor Baek Yoon-sik in the movie. However, as the filming schedule for the drama was delayed, he ultimately stepped down.
The drama 'Insiders' was originally scheduled to be split into two seasons, but it has been decided to produce it as a single season of 12 episodes. Accordingly, the filming schedule has been changed.
The drama 'Insiders' is expected to center around events and characters spanning from the 1980s to the 1990s, featuring actors Lee Sung-min, Koo Kyo-hwan, Su Ae, Lee Mu-saeng, Shin Seung-ho, and Kim Ji-yeon. Directed by Mo Wan-il, who received acclaim for 'Misty' and 'The World of the Married,' the screenplay is by Lee Gi-cheol, known for the films 'The Thieves,' 'Assassination,' and 'Mogadishu.' Similarly to the movie, HYBE Media Corp is in charge of production, aiming for a crank-in by the end of the year.
