The 183rd episode of Story of the Day When You Bite Your Tail, airing today (10th), is the final installment of 'Special: The Real,' where retrial specialist lawyer Park Jun-young and Jang Sung-kyu meet as storyteller and listener to present 'The 50-Year Cry of Death Row Inmate Oh Hwi-woong.' This story deals with the 'Incheon Shinheung Market Family Murder Case' that occurred in 1974. At that time, the wife, Joo Jeong-sook (pseudonym), and the neighboring man Oh Hwi-woong were arrested on suspicion of killing her husband and two children. As the case progressed swiftly due to the confessions of both, it shifted to the prosecution, where Oh Hwi-woong claimed his innocence, leading to a reversal. Oh Hwi-woong later confessed, 'It was a false confession due to torture,' resetting the case, while Joo Jeong-sook started to deny all crimes, claiming that Oh Hwi-woong was responsible. Amid conflicting claims, Joo Jeong-sook made an extreme choice, plunging the case into chaos once more, ultimately resulting in Oh Hwi-woong's execution without any murder evidence found. Oh Hwi-woong's last words before his execution were, 'I did not commit murder.'
In response, retrial lawyer Park Jun-young took direct action to reorganize the case, and the Kkokkomu production team, after thoroughly investigating the Incheon area for over two weeks, plans to release an interview video with the family of death row inmate Oh Hwi-woong, who had been missing for 50 years. Notably, actors Ryu Soo-young and aespa's Winter, who will participate as listeners, oscillate between shock and horror throughout the story, with Winter expressing sympathy by remarking, 'I think I would say I killed someone if I were tortured as seriously as that.'
