The ‘MZ wannabe icon’ IVE (An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Lee Seo) is once again set to take on global festivals.
According to their agency, Starship Entertainment, IVE departed for Germany today (10th) to participate in the world-renowned music festival ‘Lollapalooza Berlin.’
IVE will be invited as the first K-pop girl group to perform at ‘Lollapalooza Berlin’ on the 12th (local time), presenting a solo stage for about 55 minutes at the Olympiastadion & Olympiapark Berlin.
IVE made their debut at a global major festival last year with ‘Lollapalooza Chicago.’ Their first appearance was marked by a polished performance that impressed many, delivering a successful festival debut stage, featuring a dynamic stage composition combined with full band performances and explosive live vocals that garnered enthusiastic responses from the audience.
Global music media also focused on their performance. The American music magazine Rolling Stone reported on its official website, “IVE shook the stage with a live arrangement,” while Billboard highlighted IVE’s performance as one of the top 10 best performances at ‘Lollapalooza,’ stating, “They captivated the audience and displayed a vocal spectacle emphasizing flawless high notes. It became one of the most memorable performances of the festival this year.”
Starting with ‘Lollapalooza Chicago,’ IVE has proven their musical capabilities through appearances at various prestigious festivals and continues to make remarkable global strides this year. With the release of their third mini album ‘IVE EMPATHY’ on February 3rd, they achieved a total of 15 wins in music broadcasts (‘REBEL HEART’ 11 wins, ‘ATTITUDE’ 4 wins), and they are also set to perform at the halftime show of the ’2025 Coupang Play Series' on the 30th.
Moreover, as they prepare for the ‘Lollapalooza Paris’ stage on the 20th, IVE stands out as the only K-pop girl group invited for three total performances at ‘Lollapalooza,’ marking two consecutive years of appearances. Particularly, as they are the first K-pop girl group invited to ‘Lollapalooza Berlin,’ anticipation builds among global music fans for what legendary performance IVE will deliver.
