The 27th season of 'I am SOLO' revealed an unexpected 'special identity.'
On the broadcast on the 9th, the reality dating program 'I am SOLO' from SBS Plus and ENA featured a special episode titled 'F6+6 Ok-soon,' where the visually stunning 27th season of single men and women gathered in Jeongeup, North Jeolla Province, for 'self-introduction time.'
On this day, the single men began a 'masterpiece first impression selection' by drawing their 'one pick' to express their interest. Here, Yeong-su, Yeong-ho, Kwang-su, and Sang-cheol chose Jeong-suk, presenting their paintings infused with their individual artistic styles, while Yeong-cheol chose Ok-soon, and Yeong-sik selected Soon-ja. Notably, Yeong-sik and Soon-ja, as well as Sang-cheol and Jeong-suk, exchanged 'gwangdae-seungcheong' smiles during the 'first impression selection.' Immediately afterward, Jeong-suk shared in an interview with the production team, 'I thought nobody was interested in me and wanted to go home, but I decided I would keep up this atmosphere until the end.'
The next morning, Yeong-sik and Jeong-suk, who were selected for the 'morning date' during the previous day's 'lucky bag selection,' enjoyed a bibimbap date with great rapport. During the meal, Jeong-suk hinted, 'My second pick was Yeong-sik,' to which Yeong-sik replied, 'Me too,' creating a romantic atmosphere. After their 'morning date' ended, the 27th season's 'self-introduction time' commenced.
Yeong-su shared, 'I was born in 1986, and I worked as an actor and then in video production, but I transitioned to work as a licensed administrative officer specializing in food permits after closing my business during COVID-19.' He added a realistic condition by stating, 'For long-distance relationships, about a 2-hour drive is acceptable.' Yeong-ho, born in 1987, mentioned, 'I graduated from the mechanical engineering department at Y University and currently work as a academy instructor,' noting that 'someone who can understand nonsensical talks would be my ideal type.' He expressed his genuine desire by saying, 'I hope to get married by the end of this year or sometime next year.'
Yeong-sik, born in 1990, was a 7th-grade civil servant in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Yeong-sik, who moves around the country every 2 to 3 years due to employee transfers, said, 'I want a woman who is strong both physically and financially. There’s a high chance of being a weekend couple, but that’s a good thing,' he smiled. Following him, Yeong-cheol, born in 1990, revealed he works at a cloud IT company in Busan. He candidly stated he is looking for someone with a pretty T-zone, who is of childbearing age. Kwang-su, born in 1988, was a general practitioner at a skin beauty hospital. A devout Christian, Kwang-su revealed his hobbies include health and kickboxing, and he showcased his charm by singing 'The Way to Me' by Sung Si-kyung. Likewise, Sang-cheol, also born in 1988, was an office worker at the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), and he disclosed, 'I have a romantic notion of walking hand in hand even as we age.' However, he hinted that long-distance relationships would be difficult by saying, 'I want to take my love home after a date.'
After the single men, the single women also revealed their impressive careers. Yeong-suk, born in 1989 and an Australian national, is currently working as a marketing manager at a foreign medical device company in Korea and shared her various hobbies, including reading and hiking. Jeong-suk, born in 1992, stated, 'I work for a company related to secondary batteries in Pohang,' and remarked that 'long-distance relationships might be okay.' Soon-ja, also born in 1992, worked as a B2G officer connecting those who have difficulty finding employment due to disabilities. Soon-ja mentioned, 'My ovarian age was revealed to be 24. I'm not worried about being an older mother,' making a playful reference to 'ovary flirting.' Yeong-ja, also born in 1992, works for the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and honestly shared that, due to the nature of her job, she would need to live abroad for about two years.
Ok-soon, born in 1991, is a 10-year fashion designer. She emphasized, 'I work for an American company but can work remotely from Korea, which would accommodate my 'future husband.'' Ok-soon and her peer Hyun-suk, also born in 1991, work as a sales representative at a foreign pharmaceutical company and disclosed that she enjoys various hobbies such as flower arrangement, watching baseball, and health activities. She further highlighted her experiences as an award presenter at the Incheon Asian Games and her attempt to earn a level 2 certification in Chinese characters by stating, 'Even if my partner is avoidant, I can be patient for about a week.'
After the 'self-introduction time,' Yeong-su and Sang-cheol, who were interested in Jeong-suk, indicated they would give up on her over the 'long-distance issue.' At the same time, Jeong-suk also showed signs of distancing herself from Yeong-su, saying, 'I cannot force someone who dislikes long-distance relationships.' Shortly after, when Sang-cheol visited the single women's room, Jeong-suk signaled, 'Let's go outside,' and during their '1:1 conversation,' Jeong-suk subtly inquired about the long-distance matter.
