After being arrested and indicted on charges of sexual assault, 'I Am Solo' season 25 member Young-cheol has disappeared from the group photo.
On the 10th, 24th season member and 'Nasol Saga' participant Kwang-soo shared his thoughts before the conclusion, saying on his social account, "You need to relax... This is a phrase we hear all the time when learning to sing, learning to exercise, or even when the protagonist in a cartoon is training. But you have to exert a lot of effort and experience to reach that realm. Once I relaxed, everything was easier."
He said, "It seems that all the cast members treated me warmly, making it more comfortable. Although I couldn't appear on the broadcast due to time constraints, we had many conversations and enjoyed ourselves. I appreciate the last blind date set up by Village Chief Entertainment," and uploaded a group photo taken with the 'Nasol Saga' members.
The released photo included the members of 'Nasol Saga', including Producer Nam Gyu-hong, gathering together to take a certification shot. However, there was no sign of Young-cheol from season 25, who was embroiled in the sexual assault issue. Given that part of the photo appeared intentionally blurred, it is speculated that Kwang-soo from season 24 used apps to directly edit Young-cheol from season 25 out, being mindful of the controversy.
Seeing this, Young-soo from season 25 commented, "Send me that deleted photo, lol," to which Kwang-soo from season 24 replied, "I sent it to you in a chat~" Other cast members also seemed to have cut ties with Young-cheol from season 25.
Earlier, on the 24th of last month, reports emerged that a man in his 30s, surnamed Park, who appeared on 'I Am Solo', was urgently arrested on charges of attempted rape. Park is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in a parking lot in Seogyo-dong, Mapo District, Seoul, at around 3:30 a.m. on the 21st. The police arrested Park and applied for an arrest warrant, which the court issued on the night of the 23rd.
In particular, it was reported that Park had continued his broadcasting activities by repeatedly appearing on ENA and SBS Plus entertainment programs 'I Am Solo' and 'I Am Solo, The Love Continues' (hereafter 'Nasol Saga'), causing shock. Speculation arose that Young-cheol from season 25 might be the one in question due to being a member of 'I Am Solo' currently appearing on 'Nasol Saga' and that his surname is Park.
In response, the production team at Village Chief Entertainment released an official statement, saying, "We became aware of the arrest warrant issued by the court regarding the crime allegations against Mr. Park, a cast member of 'I Am SOLO', through news reports on the morning of the 24th. The production team recognizes the seriousness of the matter and plans to take measures to avoid inconvenience to viewers and will edit and delete cast members from previously aired episodes as much as possible."
As a result, Young-cheol from season 25 completely disappeared from the episodes broadcast beginning on the 26th of last month. He had expressed affection for Ok-soon from season 17 on 'Nasol Saga', but due to the editing, during the date with multiple participants, Ok-soon ended up forming a love line with Kwang-soo from season 24 and Young-soo from season 25. Additionally, Young-cheol has been completely deleted from already aired VODs.
Ultimately, Young-cheol from season 25 is currently in custody on charges of attempted rape. Meanwhile, other cast members have also swiftly erased any traces of Young-cheol from the group photo that was already shot, initiating a 'clean break'.
