In the broadcast, Choiza mentioned Sung Si-kyung as a rival in food content.
In the broadcast of MBC's entertainment program 'Radio Star' on the 9th, the special episode 'Horolok! Foodie Road' featured Heo Young-man, Choiza, Lee Guk-joo, and Park Eun-young.
On that day, Choiza attracted attention by stating that he received a multi-million won offer while introducing a restaurant.
Choiza explained, 'When I first started 'Choiza Road', there weren't many YouTube channels, so word of mouth began to spread. At that time, a restaurant said, 'We just opened a meat restaurant, please come and promote it. We will give you 300 million won.' I thought, '300 million won?'; I rejected it because I believed it wasn't right to accept money for eating on a program.'
Above all, Choiza, who stated he never accepted food sponsorships, said, 'I receive alcohol and beverages,' adding, 'I think accepting food sponsorships lowers authenticity. If I receive something and shoot, I feel like I'm betraying myself to the pigs.'
Choiza also mentioned Sung Si-kyung as a rival in the mukbang scene. He said, 'As soon as Si-kyung hyung suddenly appeared, it felt like he monopolized everything. He drinks a lot too. He insists on inviting places he likes. If that continues, the restaurant owner doesn't invite him, and in the end, gives up.'
He continued, 'So I have many worries. I thought I was closer to him, but there are some things like, ‘I guess Si-kyung hyung is closer.’ There is a place that I really like for buckwheat noodles. I've spent several million won there. I ordered extra pork belly on purpose and became friends. I greeted them many times, but the owner said they didn't think it would be suitable for the program and rejected it.'
Choiza said, 'I feel regret. When Si-kyung hyung suddenly started ‘eating’, I saw a restaurant I had often visited. It was my hangover spot, but I sulked and didn't go there for two months.'
Kim Gu-ra asked, 'Did you work with Si-kyung? Why didn’t you say something first?' to which Choiza replied, 'Then Si-kyung hyung would say, ‘I went way before you, since middle school,’ and added, 'Nowadays, we share our favorite restaurants out of mutual sympathy.'
Regarding the difference between him and Sung Si-kyung, Choiza explained, 'Hyung doesn't cook, right? He explains from the perspective of a chef, while I analyze it from the perspective of a consumer.' Lee Guk-joo then added, 'Si-kyung oppa really has a lot of enemies. My younger brother, who's 29, has unearthed all the restaurants he has been to in Jungnang-gu over the past 29 years, even though he doesn't live in that area.'
Kim Gu-ra, who had been listening quietly, said, 'Guk-joo, are you worried he might go to Japan?' to which Lee Guk-joo acknowledged, 'That oppa speaks the language much better.' Choiza then added, 'That hyung knows a lot about Japanese restaurants. When I visited Japanese restaurants, I saw a picture of Sung Si-kyung.'
