Comedian Jang Dong-min's 35-month-old daughter has been deemed gifted.
In the episode aired on KBS 2TV on the 9th, Jang Dong-min was shown taking his daughter Ji-woo and son Si-woo for a gifted assessment.
Ji-woo received a top 1% gifted rating due to her high language intelligence. Her overall intelligence quotient (IQ) was 127, placing her in the top 4%.
Jang Dong-min said, "The birth of a genius family has been recognized. Is it not because she has taken a lot of my blood?"
The gifted center director explained, "Even with just the top 10%, bilingual education is not difficult. Even when teaching foreign languages, it can be expanded in a fun and pressure-free manner," but noted that, "The problem may be that the language level differs from peers, which could make friendships difficult."
Jang Dong-min lamented, "I have been worried for a while. Ji-woo struggles when she is with her peers. It's because they cannot communicate."
The gifted center director advised, "When learning new words, they will want to use them, so it is necessary to actively create opportunities for them to play with such friends. When parents socialize, there is close interaction among the children."
Upon returning home, he informed his wife as well. He said, "When I told the teacher 'thank you,' they said to tell my wife, 'thank you for giving birth to them healthily,’ and I said, 'Let's raise our kids beautifully and healthily. I love you.'"
His wife was taken aback, asking, "Why am I crying?" Jang Dong-min responded, "It’s not something to cry about. She resembles my genes. I’m worried she’ll be misunderstood as being smart just because she looks like me."
