Joo Hyun-young conveyed the atmosphere of the filming of 'Pretty Crazy'.
On the 9th, a production briefing for the film 'Pretty Crazy' (provided/distributed by CJ ENM | produced by (주)외유내강 | directed by Lee Sang-geun) was held at CGV Yongsan I Park Mall in Seoul. The event was hosted by Park Kyung-rim, with attendees including Lim Yoona, Ahn Bo-hyun, Sung Dong-il, Joo Hyun-young, and Director Lee Sang-geun.
'Pretty Crazy' is a devil-possessed comedy that depicts the harrowing experience of a young man 'Gil-ku' (Ahn Bo-hyun) who ends up taking on an unusual part-time job to watch over 'Seon-ji' (Lim Yoona), who awakens as a demon every dawn.
Joo Hyun-young, who plays 'Ara', Seon-ji's cousin, said, "When I first read the script, I thought Seon-ji was so intense. I was really curious about how senior Yoon-a would channel all that energy into her acting, but Ara has a mission to take care of Seon-ji. So, I thought I needed to have the guts to handle Seon-ji, and I felt that I needed to bring out my liveliness as much as possible."
In particular, when he expressed his feelings about joining the film by saying, "It felt like I was in a jungle after getting off a plane and crash landing. I wanted to land, but it was a jungle," Sung Dong-il asked, "Was the set that uncomfortable?" evoking laughter.
Joo Hyun-young then clarified, "It was intense. It was my first movie shoot, and the senior colleagues I was working with were also, amidst all that, Ara is really a dynamic character. I had to extract that charm in the jungle, so it was definitely challenging."
She continued, "So the senior actors kept helping me. In the case of senior Yoon-a, she would tell me funny stories in my ear, which made me a bit annoyed. It wasn't strength, it was just frustrating," and Lim Yoona explained, "I thought you seemed really tense."
To this, Sung Dong-il complimented, "In fact, Hyun-young is really being too modest about herself. She prepared a lot of different colors. The director helps her choose among them. I didn’t see her trembling or anything. She was very proactive," creating a warm atmosphere.
