“Love, Take Two” tells the story of the world's most beautiful first love.
Set to premiere on Aug. 4 (Monday), the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama “Love, Take Two” (directed by Yoo Je-won, written by Sung Woo-jin, planned and produced by Studio Dragon and Showrunners) revealed a mother-daughter poster featuring the brilliant chemistry between Lee Ji-an (played by Yum Jung-ah) and Lee Hyori (played by Choi Yoon-ji) on the 9th.
“Love, Take Two” depicts the story of a single mother and her medical student daughter who unexpectedly enter a new chapter in life, choosing to live for today's happiness rather than tomorrow's. It tells the tale of first love, not an end. Sometimes humorous, often heartwarming, and at times tinged with sentiment, this story is expected to deliver laughter, emotion, empathy, and healing. Directed by Yoo Je-won, known for his warm and delicate direction in works like “My Mom's Friend's Son,” “Crash Course in Romance,” and “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” along with the solid and innovative writing of Sung Woo-jin, expectations are running high.
As the poster and teaser draw attention, the mother-daughter poster released on that day captures a happy moment between Lee Ji-an and Lee Hyori. The blue shimmering sea and ripples reflect the light, and the refreshing, sparkling smiles of the two women captivate the viewer. Above the image of the two clasping hands, the phrase “Though alike, we are different. We were each other's first world, first love” leaves a brief yet profound impact. It evokes the warmth and emotional resonance of our first world and first love, which are both special and precious because everything was new and unskilled.
Yum Jung-ah and Choi Yoon-ji star as mother and daughter in “Love, Take Two.” Yum Jung-ah plays the role of Lee Ji-an, a single mother who has lived strongly with confidence, but becomes weak as a daughter-obsessed mom to her daughter, Lee Hyori. She experiences her daughter's unexpected rebellion and her first love, leading to a transformative new life for Lee Ji-an. Expectations are high for Yum Jung-ah's transformation in portraying this change. Choi Yoon-ji plays Lee Hyori, a rebellious young adult who goes from being a straight-laced medical student to a troubled wanderer. She was tenacious in her life but suddenly embarks on the greatest escape of her life. Her performance, showcasing a variety of emotional shifts, promises to resonate with the realities of youth.
The production team of “Love, Take Two” remarked, “You can look forward to the synergy and performance of Yum Jung-ah and Choi Yoon-ji as they complete the mother-daughter chemistry oscillating between 'affection' and 'resentment.'” They added, “Please watch Lee Ji-an and Lee Hyori as they choose to pursue the 'happiness of today' that they had postponed amid their busy lives and harsh realities as they enter their life's second act.”
Meanwhile, the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama “Love, Take Two” will premiere on Aug. 4 (Monday) at 8:50 p.m.
