The group UNIS will return with a collaboration song that will color this summer.
UNIS (Hyeonju, Nana, Gehlee, Kotoko, Bang Yunha, Elisia, Oh Yoona, Lim Seowon) and 乃紫(noa) (hereafter named noa) will release the digital single ‘Shaking My Head’ at noon on the 9th through various online music sites.
This single is a global collaboration project where UNIS and noa first breathe together through music. It is also significant as it is UNIS’s first collaboration track since their debut.
‘Shaking My Head’ is a song with the concept of ‘Girl’s Date.’ Given that two artists representing Korea and Japan are coming together, the energy of the moment where different languages and styles meet has been naturally infused into the music.
This song was entirely led by noa, who directly wrote the lyrics, composed, produced, and directed the project. The vocal combination, featuring noa and UNIS members Gehlee, Kotoko, and Lim Seowon, completes a fresh and characterful sound.
The planning, which considers the intersection with global listeners, also draws attention. The lyrics include not only Japanese and English but also Korean expressions such as “please give me the receipt” as a point of emphasis. Additionally, there is a ‘Dori Dori’ challenge that anyone can participate in. The impressive aspect is that it breaks down language barriers and musical thresholds, allowing fans worldwide to enjoy it easily and joyfully.
The meeting that was revealed through photos last March has transitioned into the actual release of the music, earning high expectations from global fans for UNIS and noa. They aim to target listeners' playlists with music filled with summer vibes and lively choreography. They plan to continue communicating with global fans through various challenges and content, going beyond simply releasing music.
UNIS is accelerating its global activities after releasing their second mini-album ‘SWICY’ in April. The members successfully completed a fan concert Asia tour in Korea and Japan, and they will perform in the Philippines this August. They are continuing their busy work pace with the release of this collaboration track.
Noa, who collaborated with UNIS, is a trending singer-songwriter in Japan. His song ‘All-Directional Beautiful Girl’ released last year topped the TikTok Weekly Top Chart for two consecutive weeks and gained significant attention domestically by creating a challenge craze. Riding this momentum, noa held his first concert in Korea last year, spreading his unique musical style and emotions to K-pop fans.
Meanwhile, the digital single ‘Shaking My Head’ by UNIS and noa will be officially released today (the 9th) at noon. Following this, various ‘Shaking My Head’ short-form challenges and Vlog content ‘UNIS Days’ capturing time spent with noa in Japan will be revealed.
