Jang-woo Lee from 'Do You Know Home Cooking' showcased a hand-eating mukbang in Thailand.
On the 9th, the first episode of the MBN·MBC EveryOne variety show 'Do You Know Home Cooking' aired, featuring Jang-woo Lee and BamBam from GOT7 heading to Nonthaburi, an hour's drive from Bangkok.
The two visited a 40-year-old traditional pho restaurant to savor the local flavors, and later, on the owner’s recommendation, went to a place selling 'Pla Tu (Thai mackerel).' They arrived at a floating house located by the river, taking a converted pickup truck known as a songthaew, and greeted the 'Pla Tu master' owner warmly.
Jang-woo Lee asked, "I’m curious if you have ever tried Korean-style mackerel stew. Can I treat you to some?" The 'Mackerel King' of Thailand replied, "I want to eat it," and gladly lent out the kitchen.
The 'Pla Tu' owner prepared grilled mackerel and other home-cooked dishes for Jang-woo Lee and BamBam, who had come from afar, and Jang-woo Lee suggested they also want to repay the kindness with 'Korean home cooking.' They decided to set out on a boat to sell Pla Tu as a way to repay the owner. At that moment, BamBam jokingly offered a discount in Thai, saying, "I'll give two in one set for three people," and threw out the killer line, "Four sets for 150 baht."
During their sales, Jang-woo Lee filled his hunger by eating boat noodles with BamBam, and, asking a customer for help, glimpsed the real lives of Thai people by touring the floating house.
After a series of ups and downs in their sales, the two took a short break, and BamBam recommended they try a Thai delicacy called 'fried duck tongue' and his soul food 'som tam (Thai spicy salad)' and headed to a nearby restaurant.
BamBam said, "The part we are eating is duck tongue," and Jang-woo Lee remarked, "It tastes a bit like chicken gizzard. It's chicken, it's chicken," indicating it was a flavor that calls for beer.
In particular, as soon as the som tam came out, BamBam reacted enthusiastically and said, "This is something you should eat with your hands for the best taste," showcasing the 'hand-eating mukbang.' In response, Jang-woo Lee commented, "If you are in Thailand, you should follow Thai customs," and joined in the storm of eating with his hands.
