The Total Media Entertainment Group TME Group announced on the 8th that it has hired Kim Seok-hyun, a former Deputy Minister from CJ ENM, as the head of the institutional sector of entertainment.
Recently, TME Group has implemented strategic personnel changes to strengthen competitiveness in the entertainment sector and is actively expanding its content portfolio. Through this, it aims to build a foundation for securing comprehensive content IP that spans various sectors including entertainment, drama, music, film, and management, thereby solidifying its position as a total entertainment company.
Kim Seok-hyun, the head of the institutional sector of entertainment, is a content creator who has participated in producing representative domestic entertainment formats such as 'Three Meals a Day', 'Comedy Big League', 'Reply 1988', 'Amazing Saturday', and 'You Quiz on the Block'. He has led domestic entertainment trends by traversing genres and platforms. Additionally, he launched YouTube-based original channels such as 'Diggle Studio', 'Sapiens Studio', and 'The Bob Studio' since the early days of the digital content market, and has previously served as the head of the digital content division and the digital business headquarters at CJ ENM, leading the growth of a digital business worth 200 billion won in annual sales.
With the joining of the head of the institutional sector, TME Group has officially begun to engage in producing entertainment genres and plans to expand the planning and production of new entertainment formats that encompass both broadcast-based content and OTT and digital platforms. In particular, the strategy is to strengthen the IP-centered revenue structure across entertainment production by developing various content businesses and revenue models based on collaboration with entertainers discovered through the programs.
