Broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu, a former announcer, revealed the reason for leaving 'Workman' after six years. The truth about his departure was, in fact, a 'notification.'
Recently, Jang Seong-kyu launched a YouTube channel 'The Unemployed Jang Seong-kyu' in collaboration with the first producer of 'Workman,' Ko Dong-wan, and released the first video.
On this day, Jang Seong-kyu said, 'Workman' is a program I am so grateful for, and I was always willing to step aside for growth. When I suddenly received the notification of my departure, I felt a bit... They are making a choice for growth, and I respect that.'
Producer Jang Seong-kyu accepted the notification of his departure without opposition. He revealed his honest feelings, saying, 'But for two weeks, I kept thinking about it, and I felt depressed at night.'
Earlier, Jang Seong-kyu had already left 'Workman' after six years as of the end of May. At that time, he expressed his thoughts on his departure, saying, 'Workman is the program that gave birth to broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu; for me, it is such a program. I found that I liked 'Workman' more than I expected. I am grateful for the effort put into making my farewell beautiful, and let's keep up the spirits for 'Workman' and our little show.'
He continued, 'My farewell as a part of 'Workman' is not lonely. I will truly not forget it, and I do not know who it will be, but when the successor comes, please welcome them with joy and support so that there can be more views than when I was there. I will step back from this point and strive to be a broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu who can show a more enjoyable side elsewhere.'
Following Jang Seong-kyu, actor Eom Tae-goo grants appeared in the spin-off of 'Workman.' When asked if he watched the first episode, Jang Seong-kyu said, 'I watched the first episode. Before my last broadcast, Eom Tae-goo was uploaded. Mr. Eom Tae-goo feels like a spin-off, and 'Workman' will be handled by actor Lee Jun. It’s really fun.'
Meanwhile, Jang Seong-kyu, during his six years of grants in 'Workman,' has worked on 253 part-time jobs and surpassed 1 billion views in total.
