A five-member multinational boy group '1VERSE' is drawing attention from foreign media ahead of their global official debut on July 18, as they pre-released their digital single 'Multiverse' at noon on the 4th.
With the multinational alliance of Hyuk (HYUK, main rapper), Seok (SEOK, vocals), Nathan (NATHAN, vocals), an American of Lao and Thai descent, Kenny (KENNY, vocals), an American of Chinese descent, and Aito (AITO, main dancer), '1VERSE' has already garnered significant interest internationally, highlighted by major foreign media outlets such as BBC, AFP, The Wall Street Journal, and NIKKEI, as they amplify fan anticipation by pre-releasing 'Multiverse,' one of the tracks from their debut album.
'Multiverse' conveys the message that "while one is just a phrase, together they become a song," reflecting the meaning contained in the group name. It captures the process of various beings scattered throughout countless multiverses eventually coming together into one world (1VERSE) with warm emotions.
The song presents a retro yet sophisticated sound that allows listeners to feel the mood of both synth-pop and city pop, showcasing the members' emotional vocals and expressive lines.
Particularly, the song has garnered attention as member Hyuk (HYUK) participated directly in its production. Hyuk has already proven his skills by composing 'Marshmallow,' a track included in TWICE's Japanese unit album 'Masterpiece.' The choreography was also entirely created by Aito (AITO), the main dancer.
'Multiverse' is also co-produced by dr.ahn, Secret Weapon, Shorelle, and Justin Starling, who have worked with numerous K-POP artists such as BTS, TWICE, SEVENTEEN, and NCT, enhancing the sound's quality.
Michelle Cho, the CEO of the agency Singing Beetle, is also a Harvard University graduate and a specialized producer who has recorded over 8 million albums throughout her career after working at SM Entertainment in the A&R department. She has also been selected as an Asia-Pacific Leader by the Obama Foundation while discovering global music talents, raising expectations for the K-POP boy group launched by a talented young production team.
Meanwhile, '1VERSE' will officially release their debut album 'THE 1ST VERSE' on July 18, and they plan to commence their global activities starting with a debut showcase broadcast live worldwide at midnight (KST) on the same day.
