Thanks to my sister-in-law, I got married and had two more children.
MBN's 'Let's Go Go' Season 5 welcomed legendary singer-songwriter Lee Song-chang as its first guest, and his special connection with his adopted children moved the hearts of viewers.
In the first episode of MBN's 'Let's Go Go' Season 5, which aired on the 5th, Lee Song-chang shared heartfelt life stories in the studio with Ahn Jung-hwan and Hong Hyun-hee. Notably, he quietly but deeply recounted the process of adopting two children, offering a profound emotional resonance.
Lee Song-chang hesitantly began, "The first child is our biological child, but the second and third were adopted." Adoption was not planned. Everything came naturally as a 'fate.'
The decision to adopt the second child came from his sister-in-law's request. Lee Song-chang recounted, "My wife's twin sister was trying to adopt a Korean child to the United States, but before she could leave the country, the child stayed at our home for a while. However, as the law changed, foreign adoptions were blocked," and he said, "Since we brought the child in, we decided to raise her ourselves."
The third child also began from an unexpected encounter. Lee Song-chang revealed, "Later, my sister-in-law had a child through artificial insemination, but found herself unable to raise the child," explaining, "We first met the child while traveling in the United States, and the child, nestled in my wife's arms, showed no sign of wanting to leave her. So, we brought the child back to Korea."
MCs Ahn Jung-hwan and Hong Hyun-hee marveled, "You put it simply, but it's really not an easy task," to which Lee Song-chang responded with his characteristic cheerful laughter, "Ultimately, thanks to my sister-in-law, I got married and had two more children," bursting into hearty laughter.
Meanwhile, during the broadcast, Lee Song-chang shared stories about how he came to wear traditional hanbok, his fateful meeting with his wife, and the backstory behind his famous song 'Love.' Above all, his warm 'family story' embracing two children left a profound impression.
