Actress Min Ji-young (46, birth name Kim Min-jung) urgently returned to Korea after being diagnosed with suspected ovarian cancer while battling thyroid cancer. Fortunately, the results of a detailed examination confirmed that it was not a female cancer.
On the 6th, Min Ji-young shared her current situation by releasing a video titled 'The reason my husband and I urgently returned to Korea' on her YouTube channel 'Min Ji-young TV.' The couple, who were traveling the world in a camper van, stated that they returned to Korea urgently for cancer screening.
In the video, Min Ji-young said, 'As you all may know, I have not yet received a complete remission diagnosis for thyroid cancer,' and explained, 'We decided to come back to Korea to get health check-ups and for my regular cancer examination.'
However, unexpected news awaited. She shared, 'I felt as if the sky had fallen when I received the call that my ovarian cancer markers were high,' expressing the shock she felt at that time. She continued, 'With an anxious heart, I underwent another detailed examination, and thankfully received the result that it was not a female cancer.'
During her short return to Korea, Min Ji-young managed her health check-ups, visited her parents, and prepared documents for her pet cat 'Momo' to return to Germany. She mentioned, 'After a long flight, on the way to my parents' house from the airport bus, I felt overwhelmed with emotion,' as she wiped away tears.
Min Ji-young married 2 years younger host Kim Hyeong-kyun in 2018, and is currently battling thyroid cancer after two miscarriages and a diagnosis in 2021. She is now traveling the world with her husband in a camper van, primarily in Europe, and shares her health and daily life through YouTube.
