Actress Shim Eun-woo announced her comeback after five years through her YouTube channel.
On the 5th, a new video titled "It's been 5 years" was released on Shim Eun-woo's YouTube channel "Rest, Eun-woo."
On this day, Shim Eun-woo said, "Hello. I am actress Shim Eun-woo. It has been a long time since I greeted you like this. I am a bit nervous right now, and I feel something strange. So, I will have a conversation while drinking tea. First of all, since some of you may know me by watching this video, there may be many others who do not know me. So, I would like to briefly introduce myself."
Shim Eun-woo recalled, "I made several independent films and debuted in 2016 with the SBS drama "Wanted." I appeared in the drama "The World of the Married" as a supporter assisting senior actress Kim Hee-ae. I am still very grateful for the love and memories I received back then."
She continued, "And I have another profession. I have been a yoga instructor for eight years. I guide and teach yoga. However, recently, I haven't had much acting work. I took a break for about five years, during which a school violence issue arose. Ultimately, I fought for a long time and obtained the results that it was not 'school violence.'" She said this while shedding tears.
Shim Eun-woo said, "Personally, I went through a bit of a difficult time, but on the other hand, I think I truly learned about rest. It was genuinely a time of rest filled with love, and it made me reflect a lot on myself, allowing me to see the areas where I was lacking. It was a tough period, but I endured well, tried to maintain my daily life, and I hope to be someone who can give back as much as I received from those who truly loved, supported, and helped me."
He said, "During my time away, I could only attend one audition. I hope for another opportunity to show you a good side of me as an actor. I want to provide comfort to many people through my YouTube channel, and since I've been resting for almost five years, I think it's time to stop resting." This brought a smile.
In the later-released video, guests such as Shinhwa's Kim Dong-wan and singer Cho Jung-chi made surprise appearances.
Meanwhile, Shim Eun-woo was embroiled in a school violence controversy due to accusations from a middle school classmate, referred to as A. After suspending activities for over five years, evidence emerged during the investigation in March showing that she was not a perpetrator of school violence, which was also stated in the investigation results.
