Kim Soo-min revealed that she experienced mental distress before being accepted into law school.
On the 5th, the show 'Sokpuli Show Dongchimi' (hereinafter referred to as Dongchimi) discussed the topic 'Having a competent husband turned out to be useless.'
Kim Soo-min, an announcer, gained attention for being accepted into the UCLA Law School in the United States. When asked if she received a scholarship, Kim Soo-min surprised everyone by adding, 'It’s not a full scholarship, but I received an 80% scholarship.'
Kim Soo-min recalled the time she was preparing for marriage. She said, 'I was worried about my young age, but they were more surprised that I was quitting my job. These days, dual-income households are common, right? I told my in-laws, 'I’m quitting my job because I want to go to law school.'
Kim Soo-min said, 'After quitting my job, I interviewed at a law school in Incheon. I mentioned my plans, but I kept getting rejected. It was embarrassing when my plans fell through. After that, my husband said, 'Don’t even mention law school in front of Soo-min.' He brought back an embarrassing memory in front of my in-laws.'
Kim Soo-min said, 'So, when preparing for this study abroad, I didn’t tell either side about it. I wanted to talk to them after I got accepted. When I visited my in-laws to share that I had something to tell them, they worriedly asked, 'Are you having a third child?' When my husband said, 'Soo-min has been accepted to study abroad,' my mother-in-law welled up with tears.'
Kim Soo-min said, 'But thinking about it now, I wonder if it’s a different dream. I thought she might have cried because she was worried about having to take care of the child in my place.' She noted that those thoughts crossed her mind now. Kim Soo-min added, 'My husband will take parental leave, and we will all go together. It’s a short program lasting one year.'
