Shinji (44·Lee Ji-sun), a member of the mixed group Koyote, and singer Mun-won (37·Park Sang-mun), who is set to marry her, clarified various allegations surrounding him.
On the 3rd, Mun-won posted a lengthy message on his Instagram, stating, "Upon hearing many stories about myself, I was worried that the facts I remember might have been distorted. I needed time to verify the accurate facts."
The previous day, Shinji released a video on her YouTube channel, "How are you?" showing her introducing her fiancé Mun-won to Kim Jong-min and Baekga. During this, Mun-won stated, "I had been married once before. And I have a lovely daughter," adding, "My ex-wife is raising her, but we communicate with each other and are trying to take care of everything for the child's sake."
After the video was released, discussions among internet users ensued regarding Mun-won's comments and demeanor in the video. Internet users pointed out that Mun-won stated, "I didn't know Ji-sun (Shinji's real name) was such a famous person," referred to his ex-wife respectfully, and mentioned "age skin" to Kim Jong-min, whom he met for the first time that day.
Additionally, some internet users left comments raising suspicions about his private life. Claims such as "He married hastily because a child was born while he was seeing two people" and "He bullied someone in the military" and "He engaged in fraudulent real estate dealings" also emerged.
As controversies surrounding him continued, Mun-won took it upon himself to clarify. He said, "I sincerely apologize to Koyote fans and Shinji's fans who felt discomfort and disappointment due to my careless remarks and actions in the video, as well as the various controversies surrounding me."
He continued, "After finishing the radio broadcast yesterday, I read the comments you left. I deeply reflect on the fact that my remarks and actions in the video were reckless," and added, "I believe I may have shown behavior that was disrespectful to Kim Jong-min and Baekga, and I sincerely apologize for that."
Regarding allegations that he practiced real estate business without a real estate agent license, Mun-won acknowledged, "That is true."
He noted, "I started due to a friend's suggestion to support myself during my nameless days, but it was my fault not to recognize that doing real estate work without a license was wrong." He added, "I will not make any excuses. I sincerely apologize to everyone who has been disappointed by this and will take full responsibility for my actions."
Regarding other allegations surrounding him, he said, "I want to clearly state that they are not true." He continued, "Claims that I bullied friends or juniors during school and military service are completely false, and if necessary, I am willing to secure and disclose objective evidence that can prove this."
Mun-won stated, "It is also true that I married due to premarital pregnancy with my ex-wife, but the claim that I was seeing two people during that process is not true." He added, "Regarding the name change controversy, I want to clarify that Park Sang-mun is my real name, and I only changed my activity name from Gyrin to Mun-won, with no changes to my real name."
He requested, "I earnestly ask that unfounded speculative comments and the spread of false information be avoided." He added, "I reflect on my inadequate self and will strive to live as a more responsible person in the life I share with Shinji."
