HYBE's Latin American corporation, HYBE Latin America (HBL), Chairman Isaac Lee has also taken charge of the North American operations.
HYBE appointed Isaac Lee, Chairman of HBL, as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its North American corporation, HYBE America (HBA), on the 1st.
Isaac Lee, who is from Colombia, is a media content expert who has served as the Chief Content Officer at the world's largest Spanish-language content television channel, Univision Communications, and has acted as the founder of the comprehensive music corporation, Exile Content. He has been leading the South American operations since November 2023, when HYBE entered South America and established HBL, and he will now also be in charge of the North American operations. The synergy and strengthened competitiveness of HYBE's South and North American operations are expected through integrated operations.
HBA encompasses the Big Machine Label Group (BMLG), which includes country music artists such as Justin Moore, Thomas Rhett, Riley Green, and Carly Pearce, as well as QC (Quality Control) Media Holdings, known for its top hip-hop labels like Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, Quavo, and BigXthaplug, and also features HYBE x Geffen Records, the agency of CatzEye, which has been causing a sensation with recent releases such as 'Gnarly', 'Gabriela', and 'Gameboy'.
HYBE stated, "We expect that the new representative, Isaac Lee, with his excellent planning skills, high understanding of the local market, and close network, will contribute to the growth of HYBE's North American operations and the expansion of the North American influence of HYBE's Korean music group artists."
Scooter Braun, the former representative who led HBA for four years after HYBE acquired Ithaca Holdings, will remain on the board as a senior advisor and plans to continue providing consulting on major decision-making. He has been recognized as having made significant contributions to HYBE's influence in the U.S. market.
Additionally, on this day, Yoon Dong-joo, the former executive director at KOLON FnC, was appointed as the new representative of HYBE Music Group APAC, overseeing HYBE's K-Pop artist music business. Yoon has worked on international development and sustainable partnerships at the United Nations and international organizations and has handled management strategy at Hyundai Motor. He also has experience designing and selling the overall business as the founder and CEO of the eco-friendly brand K.O.A. Yoon joined HYBE after leading impact business new project discovery and strategic planning for global fashion and lifestyle brands at KOLON FnC.
Shin Young-jae, the former representative who has been leading HYBE Music Group APAC, is expected to take on a role that strengthens the driving force of HYBE's 'multi-home, multi-genre' strategy.
HYBE stated, "This appointment will accelerate the HYBE 2.0 strategy aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of regional hubs and driving the execution of global business expansion."
