The 21st Jecheon International Music and Film Festival (JIMFF, chaired by Jang Hang-jun), the only music film festival in Asia that promises a sensory festival where film and music intersect, has officially selected actor Kang Ha-neul as the official promotion ambassador "JIMFFACE." Actor Kang Ha-neul will participate in various promotional activities for JIMFF and meet audiences during the official press conference scheduled for August and events during the festival.

JIMFF has selected an official promotion ambassador each year to share the festival's sensibility and identity. Actor Kang Ha-neul is a representative actor of Korea who is loved by the public for his delicate emotional performances and warm image. Kang Ha-neul, who has continued a wide range of activities across screen, drama, theater, and musical, debuted in the drama "Strong! My Mom" (2007).

He then moved to film, establishing himself as an actor with both acting skills and popularity in over 30 works, including films "Pyongyang Jeong" (2011), "C'est Si Bon" (2015), "The Age of Innocence" (2015), "Twenty" (2015), "Dongju" (2016), "Like for Likes" (2016), "Innocent Witness" (2017), "Young Cop" (2017), "Midnight Runners" (2017), "Your Eyes" (2021), "Pirates: Goblin Flag" (2022), "30 Days" (2023), "Streaming" (2025), "YADANG: The Snitch" (2025), as well as dramas "To the Beautiful You" (2012), "The Heirs" (2013), "Misaeng" (2014), "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" (2016), "When the Camellia Blooms" (2019), "The Moon Rising River" (2021), "Curtain Call" (2022), "Squid Game Season 2" (2024), "Tastefully Yours" (2025), and "Squid Game Season 3" (2025). He won the Best New Actor Award twice for "Dongju" (21st Chunsa Film Festival and the 35th Golden Camera Awards) and the Best TV Actor Award at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards for "When the Camellia Blooms."

Kang Ha-neul, known as an actor with a deep love for music, has also been recognized for his solid skills on the musical and theater stages. He has left a deep impression on stage by actively performing in 11 works, including musicals "The Heaven's Clock" (2006), "Carpe Diem" (2007), "La Vida" (2008), "Spring Awakening" (2009), "Thrill Me" (2009), "The Prince Missing Case" (2011), "Black Mary Poppins" (2012), "Assassins" (2012), "SIS Dental" (2018), and plays "Harold & Maude" (2015), "Fantasmagoria" (2019).

Jang Hang-jun, the festival chair, said, "Kang Ha-neul has a wide acting spectrum spanning genres such as comedy, action, and melodrama, and he has a broad fan base that spans generations through his positive influence," adding that he expects Kang Ha-neul will breathe new life into JIMFF as its ideal promotion ambassador, encompassing both film and music. Regarding his selection as the official promotion ambassador for JIMFF, Kang Ha-neul remarked, "I have always loved music and considered it an art that greatly inspires my acting, so it is truly an honor to participate as a promotion ambassador for JIMFF, where film and music come together."

The 21st JIMFF, which selected actor Kang Ha-neul as its official promotion ambassador, will be held from September 4 to 9 in the Jecheon area. It is expected to feature a large-scale opening ceremony at Jecheon Airfield, showcasing various works that reflect the trends of music films around the world. The only film music market in Korea, "JIMFF Music & Film Market," will accept submissions until July 7.
