In the Channel A program 'Please Take Care of My Grades: Teachers 2,' which provides tailored solutions by top instructors in Korea for students and families troubled by grades, a challenger who underwent the first solution retake in the history of 'Teachers' overcame severe 'English anxiety' and achieved a top grade.

On the 29th, the program 'Teachers 2' featured a 2nd-year challenger from a prestigious high school where the top students in the country gather to compete fiercely. The challenger, a former student of a science gifted program who ranked 3rd in school, advanced to the prestigious high school but experienced the barriers of high-ranking grades in fierce competition. Ultimately, they sought help, saying, 'I want to catch up with my top-ranking friends.' The challenger revealed that they achieved their results through their own efforts without relying on private education or their parents, surprising the 'T Avengers' Jeong Seung-jae, Jo Jeong-sik, and Mimi Minu.

The challenger obtained a top grade in math, ranking in the top 2% in the mock exam, but their class ranking was 5th. Jeong Seung-jae emphasized that being in the top 10 of the class indicates they belong to the top tier, highlighting the concentration of high-ranking students. Jun Hyun-moo remarked, 'Just looking at it takes my breath away. Isn’t this almost like 'Squid Game'?' expressing shock at the intense competition. The challenger reported, 'The fierce competition makes me increasingly sensitive. My friends are so eager to learn that we avoid discussing grades,' revealing the harsh competition in the grades. Meanwhile, the challenger was making efforts to overcome the academic barriers on their own without private education. However, due to their extreme sensitivity to noise, the parents had to tiptoe around the studying challenger at home.

On the other hand, the challenger shocked everyone with grades of 6 in Korean, 5 in math, and 8 in English in their school records. Jo Jeong-sik acknowledged the difficult exam level in the college entrance exam, citing that it contains rare complex passages but criticized the study methods, stating, 'I can guarantee 100% that there has been a gap in English since middle school. An 8 is more likely a random guess.' In admissions consulting, although the challenger scored high in memory and IQ tests, the admission consultant noted, 'I’m not sure if a prestigious high school is the right fit for the challenger. They might perform much better at a general high school. Transferring should also be considered.' Despite facing a crisis with these terrible school records before applying for early admissions, the challenger expressed, 'When I first hit the wall of school records, I considered transferring or dropping out, but I’ve endured it for a year. Now, I want to survive here,' showing their determination to overcome their limits.

Another major issue for the challenger was 'English anxiety.' Having never received private education, the challenger began learning English for the first time in the 3rd grade of elementary school. While it was a new experience for the challenger, their peers had already been ahead of the game through English kindergartens or academies. Consequently, the challenger felt a deep sense of frustration. They confessed, 'I feel like a seed left in the soil decaying,' indicating that they have endured only through memorization without understanding English. However, Jo Jeong-sik, who conducted the testing, noted, 'Generally, when a student excels in English, they struggle with Korean, but this one will see improvement just by knowing English. Their language skills and metacognitive abilities are outstanding. They aren’t a rotten seed; they’re a robust tree deeply rooted in knowledge.' Jo Jeong-sik set a goal to raise the existing English score from level 3 to level 1.

Jo Jeong-sik conducted an 'elite-level English level 1 solution.' He highlighted the high-level types that differentiate elite-level students, and the challenger got closer to achieving a top grade in English through almost daily video lessons with Jo Jeong-sik. However, after the March mock exam, the challenger called the production team and broke down in tears. The score remained at level 3, which was no different from before, indicating that the solution had failed. With the first failure of Jo Jeong-sik's solution in 'Teachers,' he expressed surprise at the results, stating, 'The mock exam score was in the mid-90s, and there weren't any guarantee failures.' Mimi Minu speculated, 'It seems anxiety struck during the actual test.' Unfortunately, the challenger succumbed to 'anxiety' due to surrounding noise, failing to manage their mental state and time, leading to a collapse. Jo Jeong-sik remarked, 'I have been deeply reflecting on what more I can teach. I can’t just let go of this,' and decided to extend the solution.

In the first retake of the solution in 'Teachers,' Jo Jeong-sik and the challenger doubled their efforts. To help the challenger, who struggles with time management due to high sensitivity to language, Jo Jeong-sik repeatedly had them practice 'approximate interpretation.' This led to more flexibility in interpretation and increased speed. However, the challenger’s concentration still wavered with even the slightest noise, and their mental state easily crumbled. Failing to break out of the 3rd grade despite the repeated practice, the challenger expressed, 'I’m not confident that I can do this,' losing confidence. However, Jo Jeong-sik provided time distribution for all problems to help the challenger manage their time. Additionally, they practiced solving problems during the 2-minute intervals while moving between subway stations to work on both time management and noise reduction. After rigorous repeated practice, the challenger overcame 'English anxiety' and achieved a top grade in the June mock exam. Jo Jeong-sik, known as the 'fact blast machine,' cried with gratitude upon seeing the top grade and concluded the solution.
