MONSTA X member Kihyun colored the summer night with explosive live performances and deep emotions.
Kihyun appeared in the 'SOMEDAY PLEROMA 2025' held at KINTEX in Ilsan on the 28th, receiving enthusiastic responses from the audience with his sweet vocals and solid stage presence. This performance is the first project commemorating the 10th anniversary of the music festival 'SOMEDAY FESTIVAL', and Kihyun took the stage as a solo artist, leaving a deep impression.
That day, Kihyun opened the stage with the title track 'VOYAGER' from his debut solo album. With fresh band sounds and refreshing vocals, he heated up the atmosphere from the start, performing his solo songs 'STARDUST' and 'COMMA' in succession, captivating the audience with his relaxed stage manners and explosive vocal talent.
Kihyun's unique wit and active interaction with the audience added to the festival's enjoyment. He checked if 'Monbebe' (the official fan club name) was in the audience and asked, "How many songs have we done so far?" then immediately answered himself with a laugh, saying, "One song~" He followed up with a witty comment, saying, "I always say it's one song. Even if we do about six songs, it's still one song," further lightening the mood.
Kihyun then introduced, "The next song is one we haven’t performed at the festival. I think it will charm both 'Monbebe' and non-Monbebe as well," before passionately singing MAX's 'Acid Dreams' and Christopher's 'Bad'. His charming expressions and relaxed performance combined to present a unique appeal.
Next, he delivered the song 'Forest' by Choi Yoo-ri with a straightforward yet powerful voice, revealing a contrasting emotion. He also drew a sing-along from fans with MONSTA X's album track 'SOMEONE'S SOMEONE', and proved his powerful vocals and wide musical spectrum through his solo song 'Bad Liar', co-written and composed by member Hyungwon, and 'Marvelous Barn' from 'Infinite Challenge' featuring Jeong Hyung Don and the band Hyukoh.
The final stage was the title track 'Youth' from his first mini-album. Before the song, Kihyun delivered a heartfelt message, saying, "Everyone, don’t hate yourself. Stay strong!" bringing warm comfort to the audience, and he left a deep impression and lingering emotion until the end with a highly engaging performance.
Kihyun expressed through his agency Starship Entertainment, "The festival stage is always enjoyable, but it felt even more meaningful to be part of 'SOMEDAY PLEROMA' commemorating the 10th anniversary of 'SOMEDAY FESTIVAL.' Our MONSTA X is also celebrating our 10th anniversary this year, and it was truly an honor to be able to perform on such a meaningful stage with many audience members." He added, "I sincerely thank the Monbebe and audience members who delivered such roaring cheers, and I hope you look forward to our MONSTA X 10th-anniversary concert in July."
Kihyun, who debuted in 2015 as the main vocalist of MONSTA X, has gained the titles of 'The God of K-Pop' and 'The Voice of K-Pop' for his explosive vocal ability and sweet tone, earning the love of many music fans. In 2022, he released his first solo single 'VOYAGER', marking the start of his journey as a solo artist, and has since steadily established himself by taking the stage at various festivals.
