Robotic engineer Dennis Hong, who created a driving assistance system that allows visually impaired individuals to drive alone and the mini humanoid robot 'Darwin OP', appears on 'Crazy Rich Korean'.
According to OSEN's report on the 29th, Dennis Hong has decided to appear on KBS2's entertainment program 'Crazy Rich Korean' and recently completed filming.
Korean American Dennis Hong entered Korea University for mechanical engineering and graduated from the University of Wisconsin, earning a doctorate in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. He is currently a full professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UCLA.
Dennis Hong has also made appearances on 'Problematic Man' in 2017 and 'You Quiz on the Block' in 2023, achieving accomplishments such as the development of a driving assistance system for visually impaired individuals, rescue robots, and prosthetic limbs. He received the 'Young Scientist Award' from the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2007.
In 2009, he was also selected as one of the '10 young geniuses shaking up science', and in the early days of humanoid robot research, he contributed to the advancement of the mini humanoid robot field by fully disclosing the design of the robot 'Darwin OP'.
He is often referred to as the 'Leonardo da Vinci of the robotics world'. In 'You Quiz', he said, 'There was a feature article about me in The Washington Post. When that article first started, there was that sentence. I felt good. It may not be because I am brilliant, but many people delve deeply into one field. I am someone who digs into many areas. I think it inspires and gives many people opportunities by broadly covering various fields.'
