Actress Go Minsi, embroiled in allegations of school violence, has ultimately stepped down from Netflix's new project 'Grand Galaxy Hotel.' Instead of Go Minsi, who had initially been mentioned as a strong candidate for the lead role, rookie actress Shin Si A has been cast, indicating that the fallout from this situation may significantly impact her future activities.

On the 26th, the production team of 'Grand Galaxy Hotel' officially announced the casting of Shin Si A and Lee Dohyun in the lead roles, revealing the casting outline. The direction will be led by director Oh Chung Hwan, who has helmed productions such as 'Hotel Del Luna,' 'Startup,' and 'Big Mouth,' and the project is generating anticipation as it's a reunion with the 'Hong Sisters,' who have penned numerous hits including 'Master’s Sun' and 'Hwayugi.'

However, even before the start of production, Go Minsi had been in consideration for the role of the female lead, Go Sang Soon. Netflix representatives and the related production company were also continuing preparations with Go Minsi in mind, but internal discussions reportedly led to the final cancellation of her casting. There are voices suggesting that the fallout from the school violence controversy raised in May may have influenced this decision.

Earlier on May 28th, Go Minsi was noted to be weighing her participation in an interview ahead of the conclusion of ENA drama 'Tastefully Yours,' while continuing regular participation in filming for her other upcoming project, Netflix series 'Honey Job,' drawing attention for her mixed activities. At that time, Netflix stated, "We are filming as scheduled without any changes," but the fallout from the controversy ultimately affected some projects.

In particular, with the failed casting in 'Grand Galaxy Hotel,' there is growing interest in whether Go Minsi will maintain her casting in another upcoming film, 'Master of the World.' Although the production team has yet to make an official statement, it has been reported that they are closely monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, Go Minsi's side has fully denied the school violence allegations raised in online communities, calling them "entirely unfounded." However, those claiming to be victims presented specific examples of physical violence, extortion, ridicule, and threats against numerous friends during middle school, urging a change in Go's attitude.

As the drama 'Tastefully Yours,' in which Go Minsi recently appeared, entered the Netflix Top 10 in 53 countries, she stepped down from the upcoming drama where she was scheduled to appear due to the school violence controversy and was unable to coordinate even the concluding interview. Attention is focused on the future of her upcoming projects, including 'Honey Job,' which is currently in production.
