Actress Kim Seong-eun revealed that there are times when she feels disillusioned about expenditures on her children's education.

On the episode aired on the 26th of tvN Story's new variety program 'Ilta Mom', Kim Seong-eun appeared as the MC and first guest, expressing her concerns about educational expenses for her children.

Kim Seong-eun married soccer player Jeong Jo-guk in 2009 and has a middle school son, a second-grade daughter, and a 5-year-old youngest son. Her second child, Jeong Yoon-ha, has recently also made grants appearances on the tvN soccer variety show 'Run, Sparkly Girl.'

Kim Seong-eun's concern was precisely the educational expenses for her second daughter, Yoon-ha. On that day, Kim Seong-eun stated, "I am sincere about education. I sent all three of my children to English kindergarten. My biggest worry is my second child, Yoon-ha, who is in second grade in elementary school. She started school last year, and I thought she really should study, so I am making her do it."

She mentioned that the total number of academies they attend in a week exceeds 10. Kim Seong-eun noted, "When I calculated it, the (education expenditure) exceeds 3 million won a month. I am sending [my child] to a private elementary school, which costs about 1 million won a month. So, with 2 million won more for private education expenses, it comes to a total of about 3 million won."

Kim Seong-eun revealed, "I thought I wasn't making her do much, but when I look at the number, it's close to 10. Even when I try to reduce it, I find there's nothing to cut back on."

Kim Seong-eun also shared her concerns with her maternal group friends. She said, "Should I rationally reduce the academies? Right now, she is attending math, English, two study sheets, piano, violin, soccer, and art," adding that "the private education expenses are so high that there are times when I suddenly feel disillusioned."

In response, a friend mentioned, "I sometimes tell my child, 'My future rests on you,'" and Kim Seong-eun added, "I also say this: mothers who invest a lot in education might think, 'I should have collected all that tuition and just bought a building.' At least that would yield something."

Meanwhile, Kim Seong-eun debuted in 1998 with a cosmetics advertisement and has appeared in dramas such as 'The Scent of a Man,' 'Three Leaf Clover,' 'Strange Woman, Strange Man,' 'Thank You,' 'Catching Up with Hanam Moms,' 'It's a Good Day,' 'The Returned Earthen Bowl,' and 'Still You.' Recently, she made a special appearance in the drama 'King the Land,' marking her return to the small screen after 11 years.
