The agency of Lee Kyung-kyu bowed its head regarding the drug driving allegations.

On the 26th, ADG Company, Lee Kyung-kyu's agency, stated through its official social media, "We sincerely apologize once again for causing concern to fans and many others regarding recent media reports."

The agency explained, "Lee Kyung-kyu is sincerely cooperating with the police investigation and has testified to the facts regarding his health condition and the circumstances of the driving. Additionally, he deeply reflects on having caused concern due to his negligence, and he seriously accepts that he should not have driven while unwell, regardless of whether he had taken prescription medication.

They also conveyed, "Lee Kyung-kyu acknowledges that the incident occurred while he was taking his usual medication for panic disorder and cold symptoms, and he was moving for a hospital visit, but he admits that it was a matter that required more caution."

Furthermore, they added, "Lee Kyung-kyu deeply reflects on this incident and promises to be more cautious when driving after taking medication to ensure this does not happen again."

Earlier, Lee Kyung-kyu was accused of driving under the influence of drugs around 2 p.m. on the 8th near a golf practice range in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. At that time, he drove a vehicle of the same make as his foreign car, which was mistakenly guided by a parking attendant, and realized during driving that he had no personal belongings in the vehicle, returning to the building.

However, the police, who were dispatched after a report from the vehicle's owner, conducted a preliminary test for alcohol and drugs on Lee Kyung-kyu, resulting in a positive reaction in the drug test. Following this, the case moved into the formal investigation stage.

Article 45 of the Road Traffic Act strictly prohibits driving in a state where normal operation is difficult due to the influence of drugs. Even if it is prescription medication, if it affects cognition or concentration, and the driver was unaware of this when driving, it may be classified as 'drug driving.'

Later, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul summoned Lee Kyung-kyu on the 24th as a suspect in violation of the Road Traffic Act. The investigation was conducted from 9 p.m. for about 1 hour and 45 minutes, during which the police focused on asking Lee Kyung-kyu about the circumstances of drug use and the situation at the time of driving.

The police plan to determine the direction of future measures after comprehensively analyzing Lee Kyung-kyu's statements and related materials.
