The seven-member band South Carnival, representing Jeju, will release their new song 'Molteuli' today at noon (26th).

South Carnival is a band that modernly recreates the 'island's sensibility' by expressing the unique language, emotions, and communal life of Jeju through their music. They implement 'the sounds of the island' by capturing Jeju's shamanistic traditions, haenyeo culture, folklore, and everyday life in their lyrics and melodies, showcasing Korean-style world music that naturally blends tradition and modernity, as well as local and global influences through their Afrobeat-based sound.

The new song 'Molteuli' refers to a person who cares for horses in Jeju, singing about the memories of childhood spent following a father who was actually a Molteuli and connecting with horses. The vocalizations like 'eo-reo-reo-reo-reo' that appear in the song are based on real sounds used to communicate with horses, and the song warmly portrays the loneliness, confidence, and bond with horses that young Molteuli felt.

South Carnival announced plans for active overseas activities starting with this single release. On July 23 (Wed), they will participate in the indoor music festival 'Radical Music Network 2025' in Shibuya, Tokyo, sharing the stage with artists from Japan and Spain, followed by performing on the 'Palace of Wonder' stage at Japan's largest music festival, 'Fuji Rock Festival 2025,' from July 25 (Fri) to July 27 (Sun). This concert has been selected for the '2025 Overseas Performance Support Project' administered by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA).

South Carnival is also set to release another new song in August and plans to further expand their presence as 'the band that sings about Jeju' beyond domestic stages to international ones.
