The mixed group KARD has hinted at an irresistible addiction.
KARD (BM, J.seph, Jeon So-min, Jeon Ji-woo) uploaded a highlight medley of their mini album 'DRIFT' at midnight today (26th) through their official YouTube channel.
The video starts with a video cassette playing with the album name 'DRIFT' written on it, featuring parts of the highlight tracks including the title song 'Touch', 'BETCHA', 'Before We Go', 'Top Down', and 'Pivot'. The track-specific video cassettes were designed in a unique way, adding to the viewing pleasure.
According to this, 'DRIFT' includes the dance-pop genre 'BETCHA', which harmonizes reggaeton mood and hip-hop sound, 'Before We Go', which adds KARD's refreshing mood to the dembow rhythm, 'Top Down' with stylish synth sounds delicately layered over dreamy percussion rhythms, and 'Pivot', a reggaeton-based house genre highlighted by heart-pounding kick sounds.
In particular, the title track 'Touch' features a trendy reinterpretation of 2000s sensibilities in KARD's style. The combination of distinctive rhythms, pluck synths, and lively percussion makes anyone who listens naturally groove to the song. Lines like 'Baby all you need is one touch' and 'Irresistible, dreadful Lovestruck' leave a brief but powerful impact with their captivating atmosphere. All four members participated in the lyrics, and BM is credited with the composition.
The mini album 'DRIFT' seeks answers to the questions posed in KARD's previous mini album 'Where To Now? (Part.1: Yellow Light)'. It captures KARD's journey as they move in their own direction amidst numerous challenges. It is expected that the musical color that only KARD can offer will be more vividly imprinted through 'DRIFT'.
KARD's mini album 'DRIFT' will be released in digital format without a separate physical album. 'DRIFT' can be streamed on various music sites starting at 6 p.m. on July 2.
