ILLIT Wonhee has revealed that he was a victim of fraud, evoking sympathy.
On the 23rd, ILLIT Wonhee shocked fans by sending a message on the official fan communication platform Weverse saying, "I was scammed..."
He expressed his disappointment by sending a photo of the figure he purchased and writing, "This is not it at allㅜㅜㅜㅜ." The figure is merchandise from the popular Labbubu doll that has gained significant popularity both domestically and internationally.
The doll is a representative character doll sold by a toy corporation in China, and it has become so popular locally that it has caused shortages. The enthusiasm for the doll has extended to Korea, where individuals must either wait in line or pay a premium to buy it secondhand.
As a result, Wonhee also purchased a secondhand figure, but it turned out to be a fake with only the box crafted beautifully. The contents were poorly printed on plastic, making it obvious at first glance that it was counterfeit.
Seeing this, Wonhee said, "This is so ridiculous," and "I bought it after seeing it in person... the box looked real...." A selfie he sent along showed his panicked expression, adding to the sense of sympathy.
Especially as a minor born in 2007, Wonhee is known to be 17 years old and still relies on an allowance from his parents. Consequently, fans expressed their own disappointment by saying, "I wasted my allowance."
Meanwhile, ILLIT released their third mini album 'bomb' on the 16th and is promoting with the title track 'Borrowed Cat (Do the Dance)'.
