Jung Joon-won, who has risen to fame through the tvN drama 'Resident Playbook', takes on his first documentary narration challenge.
Jung Joon-won will participate as the narrator in the special documentary 'Korean War Mobile Trauma Center', which airs at 10 p.m. on KBS 1TV on the 24th. He, who gained the nickname 'national senior' after playing the role of Koo Do-won in the recently concluded hit drama 'Resident Playbook', will convey the hidden side of war from a medical perspective with a serious voice in this documentary.
The KBS planned documentary 'Korean War Mobile Trauma Center' sheds light on the Korean War not as a simple battle but as 'another war' aimed at saving lives. It focuses on the innovative changes in the military medical system during the Korean War, including the introduction of helicopter transport systems and Mobile Army Surgical Hospitals (MASH), and examines the process that laid the foundation for modern emergency medicine.
Additionally, it is set to specifically highlight the case of the late Dr. Lee Yong-gak, who turned to surgery due to the Korean War, and the impact that battlefield experiences had on the history of medicine, delivering a deep resonance to the viewers.
Based on his experience playing a doctor in the drama, Jung Joon-won delicately captured the agony and mission of the medical team at the time. The production team noted, 'Jung Joon-won's unique authentic voice enhanced the immersion of the documentary,' and added, 'His sincere attitude to convey the desperate struggles of the medical staff was impressive.'
'Korean War Mobile Trauma Center' will air on the 24th (Tuesday) at 10 p.m. on KBS 1TV.
