The only unique female emotional vocal group in Korea, Sonijiyu (Son Seung-yeon, Lee Ye-jun, Ji Se-hee, Yoo Seong-eun), has signed an IP contract with Artsro, the largest performance distribution company in Korea.
On the 24th, Artsro stated, "Sonijiyu, comprised of five artists with overwhelming vocal power and stage presence, will present a new paradigm for female vocal groups in Korea, going beyond simply being a project group," and added, "We will not spare extensive support in the future and plan to engage frequently with the public through various platforms such as concerts, broadcasts, and music releases."
Sonijiyu is a project team formed in 2015 through KBS 2TV's 'Immortal Songs,' and gained significant attention by winning with their performance of "One Candle" sung by Son Seung-yeon, Lee Ye-jun, Ji Se-hee, Yoo Seong-eun, and the late Woo Hye-mi. The stage, where the vocal talents of the five merged, received praise as the "Vocal Avengers" and continued to receive attention after the broadcast.
Those who had remained a broadcasting project until now are officially reformed as a group after about nine years and are set to embark on their activities in earnest. This IP contract has been signed as a group unit under Sonijiyu, and each member will continue their activities in parallel while maintaining their individual exclusive contracts with their current agencies. This model of collaboration is attracting attention as a new approach that takes into account both the members' solo careers and group activities.
Sonijiyu is set to release their first single on July 15 and is preparing to meet with music fans. This comeback, which will repay long-awaited fans with new music and performances, is expected to bring fresh emotion and depth to the domestic vocal music market.
